Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Wait, Reed is available and not pitching? Ugh. And, hey, only having a 24 man roster? cool.....is any other playoff contendor doing this?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Can't stand Duke. His best pitch is a breaking ball in the dirt.

Get Busenitz or Duffey up here on the next flight to MPLS
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Now that Duke's loaded the bases, is it time for Reed?

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 What is that about?Kinley is the 25th man but he isn't getting used, so it's basically a 24 man roster.
TFRazor Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Reed's in If the Twins go through the 2018 season with only one reliable reliever, they won’t have to worry about contending.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Any time they want to DFA Duke would be fine with me. One thing I've noticed a lot in these first few games is that this pitching staff does a ton of nibbling.
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 There is nothing more grinding than watching Duke pitch. Seriously. I don't think even he has any idea where the ball is going to end up when he lets it go.

I don't remember this much going for the edges against Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I do agree that they should lose this allergy they have to throwing strikes when they're up 0-2 in the count

Remember how long they stuck with Belisle and Breslow last year? You're better off calling for Duke to hit the DL with an 'injury'.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Thank you Mr. Reed. Those two breaking balls were nasty
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Trade for another set-up man... like now

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 No idea why Reed wasn't in before this, so the bad stuff never happened. Sigh.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 If the Twins go through the 2018 season with only one reliable reliever, they won’t have to worry about contending. that's not even close to the point......but agreed.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I'd have given odds the Twins didn't get out of the inning with a lead.
TFRazor Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Did I just die? I think I just died. Pretty sure those two breaking balls are exactly what heaven looks like.
gocgo Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I think we all see what's coming....Addison Reed to the rescue!
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Still wondering what he brings to the table that Ryan O’Rourke did not. Here's hoping Tyler Jay brings something neither can in about a month. The guy I'm most disappointed in is Hildenberger. ERA be damned, he looks awful. And only one strikeout in 5 appearances? What year does he think it is? He was bad in the spring too, I don't think there's any 'leash' issue here, he can be replaced tonight.
adorduan Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Can we clone Reed? I'll take 7 please......
TFRazor Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Not to bring down the mood gang but get prepared for the full ride. The safety bar has just come down on the "Fernando Rodney Experience" ride. Assuming Reed can get us through the 8th. (cue the Lord's Prayer)
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 The Twins could have picked up Rondon for practically nothing. Can’t be worse than Duke.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Gotta hand it to the home plate umpire today -- he's been on that outside corner spot the entire game. I praise his consistency. Too bad he's been consistently wrong every time.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Thank goodness for Reed. The problem still remains. This is Reed’s 6th appearance. This is the Twins 10th game. That can’t be maintained.
