  1. Anyone happen to know if there are any analytics out there that measure one’s effectiveness on treating players as human beings?
  2. Yup. And some employees put value on how an organization treats it’s people. Players are humans too - not merely a commodity.
  3. My belief is that Mauer will retire. From a baseball standpoint (aside from family), here’s why: - No chance to compete next year - ZERO belief in the current FO
  4. On the positive side of the ledger, I’d also add that we might have gotten a glimpse at next year’s closer today if the Twins chose to address this role in-house. Trevor May was dominant in the 8th and 9th today against a real hot team in a tough environment. I get that he’s been uneven on his road back, but if today was an indication of where he will be next year, save the FA money and spend it elsewhere!! Certainly don’t want to gloss over Gibson’s gem today - he’s been our most consistent starter this year - but May’s emergence is something newsworthy I think.
  5. Well at least we’re getting creative with our walk-offs!
  6. Yeah for sure. Molly has trust issues when it comes to bullpen usage.
  7. Yes - the Drake! Our bullpen is generally bad as a whole, but I actually like the Drake.
  8. Well a little of Vasquez smh
  9. Or the Bills or really bad lol. Actually the Vikes are pretty good. But likely just good enough to crush us fans in January as HBD eluded to above. SMH
  10. Vegas has the Vikes at -16.5. Could be the kiss of death lol
  11. They just listed all the injury casualties to the A’s rotation this year - amazing. And yet they keep winning...hmmm.
  12. See Cubs for 100 plus years. Ask those fans your question lol
  13. I agree it’s hard to be optimistic. I’ve been highly critical of this FO, but I do buy into their intent to build a sustainable org that can produce a team talented enough to be in the playoff conversation most years. As a mid-market team, we are going to have to nail it on the home-grown talent front if the perennial dream is to be realized. Because of this, exciting trade avenues seem limited. I’d be shocked if we traded away the quality prospects that we do have in the low and mid minors. Hopefully we can make some shrewd acquisitions in FA. That’s about the best I can hope for this offseason. Otherwise, the dreaded patience word will be well documented next year and maybe even 2020.
  14. I would hope they are at least considering fast tracking Rooker. Dude tore up the SEC. How much time in the minors does he really need?
