Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 The best tv lineup, bar none, happened roughly 45 years ago. All in the FamilyThe Carol Burnett ShowMary Tyler MooreThe Bob Newhart Show Taxi
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Twins hitting with RISP leaves a lot to be desired so far
Foghorn Leghorn Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Lol @ Molitor ever making odo #1. Guys a 3 tops. Should’ve been berrios easily...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 At least it was a somewhat lengthy at bat for buxton before the strikeout.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I think Bob Newhart, MTM, MASH, All and the Family, and Carol Burnett were amazingly all part of the same Saturday line up. http://www.tvhistory.tv/1973_TV_Programs.JPG Back in 1973... One good show would give the network the entire night because nobody wanted to actually get up and change the channel.
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 6 pm ET start on April 4th. I get that they can't control the weather but playing evening games in any northern city during early April isn't helping matters.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Lol @ Molitor ever making odo #1. Guys a 3 tops. Should’ve been berrios easily...Did those scoreless 6 innings on opening day not happen? Odorizzi has given up 2 runs in his first 7 inning... and Berrios was 3rd in the rotation so he could pitch the first game in Puerto Rico.

Ashburydad would say "ashburyjohn, change it to CBS," and seconds later it would happen.

Doubles Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Not a problem at our house. Ashburydad would say "ashburyjohn, change it to CBS," and seconds later it would happen.Yep. We had that same model remote control in our house, too. When programming on any of the other three channels seemed more appealing, the old man would would enlist his remote control- I called it 'me'- and the channel would be changed in short order.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 How does this even matter? Foghorn was upset with Odorizzi on opening day in the first inning after the Machado Double. He hasn't forgiven him yet.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Something upsetting about watching baseball in the snow
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 For me, the best pure comedy made was Cheers. If one considers MASH a comedy, maybe it is better. I don't consider MASH a straight comedy though.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Nothing ticks me off more than a pitcher failing to throw strikes to a helpless batter...other than the MLB forcing helpless pitchers have to hit.

To demonstrate to my kids how Old I am. I tell them that when I was a boy. We didn't have a Channel 5, Channel 6, Channel 7, Channel 9 or Channel 12. Just loud static.

She didn't go nearly as hard at me as she could have. "Yeah, remember that, Dad? Back when you had to flip your phone?"

Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Watching this game is making me feel cold. I better open a window.
Dave The Dastardly Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 Speaking of old TV shows... and bad baseball weather (it takes a special talent to be able to connect those two diverse topics, or just a couple of brewskis and a bifurcated mind - two out of three ain't bad) but back when I was a kid every Twins game on TV was played during a "snow" storm. Even in July. It was what we called super low definition.
