D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Couple of months ago, my daughter attempted to take a dig at me and my age. She didn't go nearly as hard at me as she could have. "Yeah, remember that, Dad? Back when you had to flip your phone?" Sadly, I still have a flip phone, but when I flip it I can pretend I am on the original Star Trek getting ready to beam up, so it is not completely a bad thing. I remember when I thought the people who had push button dialing had fancy phones.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Man, I was just about to say that DOZIER!!!!'s eyes looked like he was locked in. But he went to 0-2 on that PA and I chickened out.

I've got a wife for that.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Back in 1973... One good show would give the network the entire night because nobody wanted to actually get up and change the channel. Yeah, but that particular lineup made pretty much every other network not even try.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Man, this Dozier home run thing is getting old. /really late April Fool!
Doubles Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 If we're talking old sitcoms and WKRP in Cincinnati doesn't come up, that's an Andy Travisty. To stay on topic, the episode where the station takes on hated rival WPIG in a softball game is an absolute riot. You know the one. Les tries to avenge a childhood wrought with violin lessons instead of ballgames by trying to round up enough players around the WKRP office to field a team. He gets only one taker- Jennifer Marlowe. "It will be a great chance for me to try out my jogging shorts." To which every other office member quickly responds with a decisive, "I"m in..."
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Every Tuesday night at 9:29 on CBS: "Book him, Dano!" (Allowing for the occasional..."Dano, book him!") I was really thrown when occasionally he would go "Book him Kono". It was on after my bed time, but I loved the wave, so I would sneak out of my bedroom when I thought they were about to have a commercial break to watch the wave from down the hall way. I am now starting to think my childhood was perhaps a little pathetic.

D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 WKRP for the Thanksgiving episode alone is worthy of a mention. They just started playing it again on one of the antenna TV channels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf3mgmEdfwg

I'm thinking a suggestion to start a rousing game of Guess The Spouse probably would lead only to hard feelings here. Never mind.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Whoa! Quietly nice foul catch by Rosie!
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Only just now? I am pretty good at being in denial a lot of the time.

I got some good news and bad news. Mom: What's the Good News? Steve: NBC Picked up my pilot. My show is gonna be on television! Mom: That's wonderful... So... What's the Bad News. Steve: The network exec says that nobody will watch it on Saturday Night against the CBS Lineup. It's going to die a slow painful death. Mom: Good Luck Son... I'm sorry to say I want be watching either.

kydoty Verified Member Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 The lower deck screen has to be new. I’ve never seen that before at PNC until now. In any case, having a transparent screen as part of your wall is stupid.
