Best Minnesota trip in a long time for me, Vikes win, and Twins win (both big time!) in the midst of tonight's ass kicking started talking with the old man about "remember this guy who played for the Twins?" Fun game.

 

In honor, let's start a "remember that guy" thread for the Twins:

 

Rules:

 

-Name a guy who played for the Twins, no duplicates, let's see how far we can go.

 

-No hall of famers, all stars, retired numbers or legends. That's too easy.

 

I will start with two:

 

Juan Castro

Shane Mack

 

 

Now go! Let's see how far we can get without a duplicate.

 

If you want bonus points, list a stat, fact, memory, moment or anything you find on Wikipedia about the guy.

Chip Hale, GPHoaT (greatest pinch hitter of all-time)

 

652 career plate appearances with all but 37 coming against right-handed pitching.

 

198 of them came as a pinch hitter.

 

(was also my primary pinch hitter on Ken Griffey Jr. baseball on the SNES)

I can't believe Chip Hale was mentioned before I could brag him up.  Little lefty I wished I could have been.  Then Al Newman was mentioned before me.  My son has camped with Al, he is a fun dude to be around.

 

So I guess I will bring up two of my other favorite Twins:  Junior and Joe Ortiz.  Junior was good, Joe stunk.

I was watching a game and he did something wrong, I can't remember what exactly, but my buddies cousin shouts at the the TV "That's what you get for f***ing Jennifer* all night!!" I ask my buddy what that's about and he tells me that Cordova has been sleeping with his cousins girlfriend. 

 

*I can't remember the girls name, so I just tossed one out there that seemed about right.*

Rich Reese, who I met in my optometrist's office when I was a in elementary school.  The Twins had sent him for a vision test.  This would have been, oh, not too long before he was released.
