bighat Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I'm guessing Turley can be in Rochester before the game's over. Getting a little sick of the guaranteed losses.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I'd hate to be the fans that waited all day for this...I'd sure hate to be in our shoes right now.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 You're thinking "Mercy Rule?"Can we petition the league to apply the Mercy Rule before games that aren't started by Erv or Berrios so that we don't have to endure games like this one?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I'd sure hate to be in our shoes right now.The torture we'd have been put through would be unfathomable.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Stretch out Boshers and put him in the rotation?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 You're thinking "Mercy Rule?"I was thinking meteor striking the ballpark, but yeah, that would be a form of mercy too.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 the team has announced that ticket holders for today's game can redeem their tickets for another game any time this season. That would be a nice bonus if you actually stayed. Free baseball! I hope steve checks back in an sees that.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Maybe this is the chance for Duffey to throw 4 innings and get himself stretched out to start. Though Santiago will take Turley's spot, so maybe Duffey could take Gibson's spot?

twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 How sad is it that Santiago and his 5.26 ERA looks pretty good right now.
Broker Provisional Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Hot Damn! They didn't get anymore runs.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Stretch out Boshers and put him in the rotation?Has there ever been a good pitcher who goes by "Buddy"?
Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Has there ever been a good pitcher who goes by "Buddy"?Well, the Twins have tried "Nik" and we see how that's worked out, so, what the heck.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Dillon Gee can opt out of his contract on July 15th if not in the majors. You can bet he will be called up after 1-2 AAA starts, barring injury. Though, to be honest, I don't know why they wouldn't be using him in the majors now. Santiago is also slated to be back and the Twins are saying he is awesome. Take that as you will.We will never see Turley again.
Jerr Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I was thinking meteor striking the ballpark, but yeah, that would be a form of mercy too.One is passing close to Earth this Saturday, hopefully Sox are done scoring by then...............
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 SMOD:I was thinking 2 or 3 on the dial. You had it at 11.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 How sad is it that Santiago and his 5.26 ERA looks pretty good right now.Hey, I was pining for the days of Nick Blackburn a few days ago. He'd look pretty good as 4th starter right now.
Jham Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Just got home from work. Nik Turley.... Missing a "c".... missing.... so much more... No words.....
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Just got home from work. Nik Turley.... Missing a "c".... missing.... so much more... No words.....I can tell you what he wasn't missing...bats...
Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I was thinking 2 or 3 on the dial. You had it at 11.What, and risk this game rising from the ashes? Not me...
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 What, and risk this game rising from the ashes? Not me...If you're going to do something, do it right!
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 agreed. No point in someone that has been in the system to get a shot. edit: my grammar is about as good as the Twins' SP....Now we know all about your grammar. But what about your grampa?
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I've heard stories of guys literally being pulled out of a crowd or off the street outside a studio, and being asked if they can sing and suddenly fronting a band or recording an album. We got anyone cruising the aisles or the sidewalk outside?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Now we know all about your grammar. But what about your grampa?Yo grampa is so ugly when he tried to join an ugly contest they said, "Sorry, no professionals."
ShouldaCouldaWoulda Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I have to say that I am surprised at how bad Turley has been in his 3 starts. With how many bats he was missing in AA/AAA I thought he'd at least be a guy that would be able to be serviceable. Thought he'd be a guy that has a high K/9, but only go like 5 innings due to BB's and deep counts. But, he isn't even striking guys out. I have missed all of his starts, so I don't know why he's failing. Is it his FB or CB getting destroyed? Location? Everything? How can a guy go from being sooooo dominant in the minors to virtually the opposite in the MLB? Hoping that he can fix whatever it is, and come back up in the bullpen. I just have a gut feeling this guy is going to be a good pro by season end in some role.
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Twins fans....our starting pitching couldn't get worse. Nik Turley...hold my beer.
wavedog Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 While tracking the game on mlb.com you know that you are in bad shape when there are more Game Advisories coach visits to the mound for your team than outs.

ashbury Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Sac bunt by the Sox with two on and none out. It was asked in a recent game and I have to ask again: why would an opponent give this bullpen an out?
Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Great, a banner ad just went across in front of Boshers on my computer: "Winning never gets old." Sigh.
