Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Yes, changing the subject is good.... Didn't mean to dive into the machismo gutter. The sweeter the cobbler, the better! Diving in implies one got out...
Blake Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Unfortunately, Bert has recalled this same episode of Ted Simmons stealing signs from 2B with the same vivid inaccuracy.Still a great story. And I imagine Nolan Ryan might just have hurt rather than warned. By the way, from the way Jack Morris talks, he was a surly curmudgeon at a young age, say about 23.
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Watching Bert talk pitching and grips with Strasburg, Sale. Pretty interesting actually.

Jerr Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Gladden just said he is sure that they will play this game.....sad thing is that the kids groups are leaving on their buses.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I am praying for more rain and a better pitching matchup in August.

ahart10 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Twins don't need another doubleheader on the schedule. Would be nice if they can play this game.

KidBro Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Al Leiter in his spot starts in the NYY booth is a solid listen for pitching intelligence also.
Jerr Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Latest radar shows the rain moving out!!!!!
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Imagine who the pitchers might be, if 'twere to happen again! It's difficult for me to imagine a worse matchup.

bird Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Still a great story. And I imagine Nolan Ryan might just have hurt rather than warned. By the way, from the way Jack Morris talks, he was a surly curmudgeon at a young age, say about 23. Jack Morris would know a surly curmudgeon when he saw one, that's for sure. He had the rep all the way back in high school, where his younger brother was thought of as the better athlete and by far the nicer guy. But then, we know how far Jack let his surliness take him, so... I was making calls downtown Milwaukee one day, staying at the Pfister, when the Twins were in town playing the Brewers. Jack Morris was sulking by himself down in the lobby, in a corner. I was poking my nose back in the hotel between calls. Other players were cruising in and out of the hotel in groups. But there sat Black Jack, for hours, by his lonesome. And it wasn't his night to pitch, so that wasn't the reason he was being unsociable.
Broker Provisional Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Precip is down to 30% at 5:00 and 10% at 6:00. I'm guessing they begin play at roughly 5:00. I live very close to the ballpark and it's barely coming down here.

Dantes929 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Thread reminds me of Rules of Engagement episode. Jeff takes some of Audrey's blatherings and shows her how to say the same thing more concisely. Frustrated she says "How about four words. I want a divorce". Jeff says "Divorce me. Two words".

Jerr Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 It went out on the radio! We ain't got a radio...Sad....everyone needs a radio.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Listening to the White Sox broadcast, and the color guy, after Anderson's single, says "that's the best way a leadoff hitter can start his day". I can quite easily think of at least 3 better ways...
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Sad....everyone needs a radio. That's a lot of demands on this guys time.
Jerr Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 That's a lot of demands on this guys time. Well, he had one....good movie!
Broker Provisional Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Can you see any field activity or are you not quite that close We can often hear a big crowd cheer but can't see it.
