David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Y'know, it just dawned on me this game was delayed quite a lot. These day games start around 2AM for me, and while I was awake at that time last night, I was busy with the hair-holding thing. But now that I'm following at "work," it seems interminable. And now- another pitching change. Cripe, just leave Breslow in to take his lumps for the team. It's not like we're worried about that 9-run deficit turning into a 10-run thing. Aww, great. Now I've got drool on my shirt.

bird Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I'm very frightened. Yohan Pino pitched for 4.2 innings tonight in Rochester.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 It's nice to see Busenitz have a good inning. Hopefully he can get the rookie struggles out of the way and earn some more playing time in closer games.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Wha--- Oh, sorry. Was busy reading essays, then had to peek at the Nba draft thingy. Wow, what a trade the Twolves made. Oh, and the game is still on? Has the comeback started yet?
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Another huge difference in verbiage between sexes: Details. We were catching up with a few friends on our recent trip to Cancun.... My version: "It was great! Lots of drinking, pool time, great wedding, and phenominal weather." Miss Vanimal's version: "Let me start from the beginning at the airport. I was wearing this and we went to the airport bar where I met a person who does this! Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc." For 10 minutes. Women. Can't live with them, can't live without them.my wife will tell me far more details than I could ever possibly retain... Grocery list? The most ridiculously vague document in the history of literature. If I call to ask questions I catch heck for calling about 35 times. If I guess, every single decision will be wrong, even if based on well established history.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 hes going back to triple A tonight for a reliever, right? Then Santiago takes his next turn in the rotation. That'd make the most sense. From the options available... it'd be Pressly or Wimmers, I'd have to think. Then Santiago pitches in 5 days and eventually Hughes will join the bullpen.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Increasing the white Sox trade value is a bad strategy, btw.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 OK, guys, bottom 9 here, let's go! Hey, batta batta! Hum, baby, come on, now! Oh, drat, I've got 13,985 today so far....
mickeymental Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 hmm. isn't 9-0 the score for a forfeit?

David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Good game to miss, sad to say.Like a lot of 'em, lately. And, sad to say, a few more probably comin'.
gocgo Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Not going to be too gloom and doomy over the loss. I think we mailed this in after the first inning disaster. What did frustrate me was that the first thing I taught my kid when he was learning to pitch was how important it was to throw a first pitch strike. The odds of getting the batter out went way up. He got it. The second thing was not to throw two pitches the same speed twice in a row until he could throw 100 mph (he was 9). He got it. Nik Turley doesn't get it. How many 93 mph fastballs was he planning on throwing if they had left him in?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I'd sure hate to be in our shoes right now.Maybe you'd like it better in a pair of freshly cobbled Sunshine shoes, and some fresh tasty blackberry cobbler in yer belly?
