Quick scouting report on Nik Turley, for the benefit of teams scouring the waiver wire: major league stuff, zero command.

 

I tuned in with the score 4-0 and 1 out, and I found myself hoping Nik had the presence of mind to savor his final major league pitches, even if he's deeply disappointed in the moment. This has to be the end of the line, right?

I feel like at this point they've rooted around in the dumpster so long that the garbage truck came by, accidentally picked them up, and tossed them in a landfill where they continue to dig up diamonds that later turn out to actually be shards of broken Zima bottles.

No, but not a better idea either. And Slegers isn't IMO disposable, so if letting him develop a little more consistency in AAA has a chance of working, leave him there. He's not currently ready to keep the ERA below 7 in the majors.

Nothing spectacular, just a good read on a deep fly in left center. Some major league CFers would make that play, many would not. Very satisfying, and yeah, it probably kept the two baserunners from scoring.
