Unless Bellinger is seen as a corner OF, I don't see him as a need for us, even if he is a stud. We just have so many fairly young guys there; Sano, Park, Vargas, Kepler, Palka, and Mauer for now. Yes, we can trade some of those guys and some of them might not be the answer or pan out, but at least we have young potential there. 

 

Maybe they aren't as high on De Leon as being enough to not include a lot more, or Alvarez as too far away or not a starter. 

 

Park, Vargas, Palka and Mauer are/ should be complete non factors when debating whether or not to acquire potentially a high end corner OF/ 1st baseman.

Only Sano is on the same plane as Bellinger as a prospect. He is a MLB player with near certainty....Palka? Vargas...I have real doubts.

 

As for Kepler, one of him or Bellinger is in the OF, the other at 1B......Plenty of room for a top 20 prospect on a 103 loss team....

Just speculating on Twins needs, Dodgers depth and needs, the kind of prospect trades we've already seen go down the past few days, my guess would be De Leon and Alvarez are the top 2 pieces. The debate would center on the quality of the 3rd person and any possible 4th. Twins get 4, then the value of #3 drops. Twins are willing to take 3, then the value of that guy goes up.

 

Just my 2 cents and pretty much echoes a lot of what's already been said here.

I went to a couple OKC Dodgers games last summer with my family and at the second game we were sitting behind home plate and there were a ton of scouts that the stadium employees told us were looking at the Dodgers pitcher in possible trades. I thought maybe it had been De Leon but I went back and looked and it was just Carlos Frias. I'm glad because he really wasn't that impressive. The other starter we saw (Brock Stewart) was much more impressive. Like the Dodgers fan that posted earlier in the thread said, he had a really nice game in the majors against the Cubs and finished the year in the Majors pretty strong, so I'm hoping maybe the Twins are holding out to get him as the 3rd or 4th piece.

I would say there is actually a decent chance of this being the case. Mike Berardino referenced Stewart in multiple tweets an in the past hour saying how he is on the Twins radar. I would assume they want him to be the third piece and some haggling is going on about that. Seems like Dozier is Dodgers top priority at 2nd base after they traded Kendrick. If he wasn't, they would have just resigned Utley for cheap by now

I know when the meetings are scheduled to end.  Perhaps I should have said, why are the Twins flying home?  If two top prospects are already on the table, and you're serious about trading him, that's when you sit down and hammer out a final agreement.  Just don't tell the Pohlads you got charged extra for not checking out of the hotel in time.

Why doesn't everyone just take a deep breath and back off DaveW. You should be a little grateful that he continues to reply to all the critics. If I was DaveW I would stop posting until it is going to happen and hopefully everyone can take a minute and realize how they are acting.

If a deal happens everyone will look like a fool for their petty little shots at someone who is trying to help.
