It will be interesting to see what they gave up for Feldman. I like Santana more than Feldman, but Feldman is a FA at the end of the year, so the financial commitment is a lot less.

I have said this before, if we do not get get a lot for Santana, it makes zero since to trade him.  He is our only MLB pitcher right now.

But then again who cares how he's pitching on a sub .500 team.

I agree, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Twins are thinking of exercising their option on Suzuki for 2017 if they don't get something decent this year. For whatever reason, it seems the current staff is higher on him than most of us. 

 

I'm not so sure 2017 is the Twins option. I know that has been talked about on here, but I've seen absolutely no evidence of it anywhere else.

If he was a free agent at the end of the season I would agree with you.  But he's not.....which means he has value BEYOND this year for the Twins.

We are talking about the same Ervin Santana here right? The 33yo career average starting pitcher who's due 27M/2YR?  Twins fans are talking like this guy is a Cy Young candidate

The whole team needs to be placed on waivers at 3:01, hoping that some of these guys don't get claimed simply because the active teams are still trying to figure out their 25 and 40-mans.
