Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Tomorrow? Wednesday? Next week? May? Summer? I'll be "optimistic" and say tomorrow in a 3-2 game.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Highly unlikely that they win tomorrow. Another lefty in Rodon on Wednesday, so that's good, but he's got some big time swing and miss stuff (as if that matters to Twins hitters).

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Wow. This team is just not ready... two years in a row, for the season to start. All the cocky talk from Dozier and Plouffe, the team leaders (it almost makes me choke to type that) in spring training, and look how they are leading. Time for a real rebuild? Do they have to go 0-10 first? 5-20? Wow. Twins' fans deserve way way way better.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 7 out of the 9 starters ended today's game with a BA in the .100's. Law of Averages says this team is about to go off. I hope that's how it works anyways.

Even TD darling Escobar, who is one of the only ones actually hitting, is contributing with his 3rd error in 7 games at short today.

ShouldaCouldaWoulda Verified Member Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Tomorrow; we are good against lefties. Well, we don't have Hicks anymore, so probably not as good. But, I will say tomorrow. Rodon will have one of his high BB days.
Raven Verified Member Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 They'll take at least 1 game from the White Sox. I'd bet on Game 3. It's been pathetic so far and reminds me a lot of the '84 or '85 team. I remember they would rip off long losing streaks of 7-8 games and then have some equally long winning streaks when they looked like all-stars. I also remember drinking heavily that season.

That everyone on the roster is terrible and the rest of their career have been a mirage? I mean a 7 game sample size is pretty big.....
JaleelWhite FanClub Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I can't believe I'm typing this, but they'll probably win the next time Nolasco pitches.
Old Twins Cap Verified Member Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Twins are trying to find the bottom. We knew they weren't that good last year, and now, guys like Sano,Rosario and Buxton, are out of their depth. Meanwhile, veterans are not making it happen either, Plouffe, Dozier, Zukie. Unbelievably, only Mauer is showing up, along with Escobar, though with three errors, you can't exactly vote for him for the All-Star Game. Pitching has been decent, except for Perkins and Fien, their two oldest relievers. Who knew that old relief pitchers don't always pan out? Good God, what has Terry Ryan wrought?

Critics may say "Walker would have struck out at a 75% rate" "DH - DH - DH - DH - DH" Nobody saw a 0 - 7 record with a 5 for 55 RISP. RBI's are not a real stat that matters. Or so I keep reading. If we had more guys taking BB instead of taking K's everything would be so much better is the mindset that leaves guys on 1st and 2nd to end innings. The Twins need "GAME CHANGERS". I hope they at least give Kepler a chance to DH and do his thing. He is a game changer and is at least in their dugout.

But the Escobar boot on Saturday was critical. In fact, Dozier has been pretty substandard too from what I've seen. Every one on this team needs to look in the mirror!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm going with today. 100% LOCK. Book it.

Welp, we've gone off the rails (see also: the ridiculous abortion called "the bandwagon thread.") I'll come back to TD after they've won their first game. Maybe things'll be sane around here by then.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Baltimore is 7-0. The Twins are 0-7. I predict Minnesota will outperform the O's and wind up 86-76 and in the wild card. I was sober when I typed that.
