  1. or for short.. Danny Santanadanna Roseannadanna
  2. "Sorry sane, but Gardy is much better at giving out nicknames. Just a few changes I know he'd make: 4. Santany -> I'd have to think Gardy would come up with Ervie all by himself." Or he could ask Gilda Radnor for help, and come up with: Danny Roseanne RoseannadannaSantanadanna
  3. As Gardy's first quote to the Twins-Daily posters who pleaded for his dismissal after the 2014 season: "Thank you all for this promotion, and 'NEENER-NEENER-NEENER!"
  4. Nick Punto has just been hired as assistant to the assistant to the GM. Toby-Gardy has just been hired as assistant to the assistant to the assistant to the GM. The Twins will hold open the position of assistant to the assistant to the assistant to the assistant to the GM, until Gardy's grandson has completed his potty training.
  5. As long as Gardy's responsibilities are limited to: 1) Making sure the boys are getting after it and battling their tails off. 2) Handing out nicknames to the new guys like Sanowy, Buggsy, Murph-ie-y, Rosary, Byungy, Oswaldy, Jepsy, Santany-1 and Santany-2. 3) Greasing the pitchers' fingers, so the ball will come out of their hands easily.
  6. The "next level" is TWO wins? Don't set the bar too high....
  7. If this is the MIDDLE of the winning streak, streak=2. If this is the END of the winning streak, streak =1. If this is the BEGINNING of the winning streak, streak>1.
  8. Is this supposed to be funny, satirical, thought-provoking, none of the above or nothing at all?
  9. "Look for the silver lining When e'er a cloud appears in the blue. Remember some where the sun is shining, And so the right thing to do, Is make it shine for you. A heart, full of joy and gladness, Will always banish sadness and strife. So always look for the silver lining, And try to find the sunny side of life"
  10. "When will the Twins win their first game?" "The sun will come out tomorrow So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may! Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow You're only a day away! When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely I just stick up my chin and grin and say oh The sun will come out tomorrow So you got to hang on 'til tomorrow, come what may! Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow You're only a day away Tomorrow, tomorrow I love ya tomorrow You're only a day away ..."
  11. Chargois is returning from Tommy John Surgery performed in September of 2013. Only in baseball!....... Instead of naming a surgical procedure after the Doctor who first designed and performed it, they named it after someone who slept through it.
  12. Key words are "for his size". Smaller may be faster, especially on the left turns.
  13. My bad! I thought that you wondered why, which I should not have thought, because I'm aware that you are very aware of the situational reasons. And I agree, if your best hitter may bat again in the game, he shouldn't be removed for a pinch-runner.
  14. The "reasons" to pinch-run for a guy on first with 2 outs are: 1) Two outs is the textbook time to attempt stealing 2B to get him into scoring postion for a single...If it fails, you have lost on minimal scoring opportunity (man on first, two out). and 2) If the hitter hits a gapper, the original runner may have been stopped at 3B for lack of speed, while hopefully the pinch runner can score the run.
  15. Please explain the difference between: 1)blowing a lead and 2)the opposing team coming back from behind. THEN Please explain the difference between: 1) Coming back from behind, and 2) the opposing team blowing a lead.
  16. Let me think about this: I am a third-baseman named Miguel Sano standing 90-feet in front of Miguel Cabrera, while Rick Nolasco is lobbing cookies into his strike zone. And some blog poster is worried about my safety while playing right-field 300-feet away. HUH???????????????
  17. The SUBJECT was Sano in RF. That hurts OF defense, but HELPS IF defense (Plouffe>Sano) and HELPS Offense (Sano>Arcia). If you choose to ignore context, you may have a point.
  18. Oufield defense, not a priority. Infield defense and team offense were the priority.
  19. My capitalization does not indicate criticism of "severe" anything. I was just trying to emphasize a point, which is that: Some teams keep some bench players for pinch-running or late defensive purposes. (minimize plate appearances). Some teams keep other bench players for pinch-hitting, especially for pitchers (in the NL). Some teams (IMO mostly in the AL) keep bench players who are good enough two-way players to play full games hitting and fielding without hurting the team either half of the inning in order to rest starters. If I am wrong, it won't be the first or last time for me. No criticism intended
  20. In the American League, bench-player are not used primarily as pinch-hitters, pinch-runners and late-game defensive replacements as in the National League. (where pitchers have to be replaced offensively) In the American League, bench players play ENTIRE games periodically to REST the starters. Different league (DH/no DH)= different use of bench players.
  21. Los-ah, Los-ah I'm no booze-ah!
  22. Has ISIS been invited to the party?
  23. He's out of options....
  24. No harm intended. I went for the laugh, not for the money. Which partly explains my lack of money.
