    Just heard a rumor that the Twins players will go on strike unless Nolasco is released before Opening Day. The infielders are citing safety issues related to the rockets being fired at them by the opponent's batters. The outfielders are asking for a higher mileage rate while running after bombs and blasts. The catchers are citing boredom, complaining that none of Nolasco's pitches ever get to them. The other pitchers are afraid of getting killed by line-drives into the dugouts and bullpens.

    If Jesse Crain is a comparable measuring stick for a reliever, that reliever belongs on the Twins roster. Crain may not have been the Twins closer, but he was seldom in danger of losing his job.

    Your memory is pretty good. Most MLB closers began as: Starters who failed, Starters who got old, Starters who developed a gimmick pitch..or Position players who couldn't hit.

    No sarcasm...Santana improved his BA by .044; his OBP by .046; his SLG by .101; and his OPS by .147. That is a HUGE improvement. And his haircut is MUCH better than Arcia's!

    Forget Arcia's at-bats! How about tis slash line from 2016 ST? .377 BA / .385 OBP / .557 SLG / .942 OPS 13 RBI and 7 SB. DANNY SANTANA!!!! Pretty good OF speed with Rosario, Buxton and Santana!

    However, the results may have been based on the hitters' incomplete development of a good approach for hitting against Duffey. Once the hitters ADJUST by laying off his plus-plus curveball and sitting on his fastball, it is Duffey's turn to ADJUST by mixing in a third pitch. Sometimes it is better to preempt the hitter's adjustment by preparing your own adjustment in advance.

    For Bay,the Mets bought themselves some payroll flexibility by negotiating a payout of the $21 million.

    Because the two LHP (Darnell and Dean) are mediocre prospects, I expect LHP Taylor Rogers to be switched from the bullpen to the rotation, when one of the starters is promoted or demoted.
