this seems to me like the first of many moves to come.  We can only hang on, watch and enjoy.   :)

I wonder if this means Hicks is hurt bad enough to go on the DL.

I also wonder if it means he got hurt sometime between last night's game and today's game. The Twins seemed surprised by the injury.

Apparently, he injured it taking BP before the game today.

I couldn't be happier and more excited for Buxton. As a Twins fan, I'm anxious to see what he can do, while trying to keep my expectations in check.

If we give him a little time, I think we'll all be really pleased with how this turns out.

I was listening to the pre-game today when they were discussing Hicks' elbow injury and something about it struck me as odd. I don't even know now what in particular was said to make me think that, but your statement that they seemed surprised is close to what I would have said too.

My thought after hearing about Buxton getting called up was that Aaron Hicks has played his last game as a Minnesota Twin. Who knows if that is right, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is traded once "healthy".

Great. As it should be. After the Hicks news..... I would have thought Ryan was brain dead if it didn't happen. Goes to show that it is a good thing not to pay attention to so called experts who state opinions as fact.

Will Buxton lead off? Be featured in the lineup? Will this finally get Mauer out of the 3 hole, at least until and if Joe can hit like he deserves to be there again?

I wonder how much influence Molitor has in decisions like this.  I believe we've had some success with AA players in the past skipping AAA.  Didn't Scott Erickson make the jump, and also Chuck Knobloch?

Anyway, I'm not sure this will necessarily turn things around, but it's still exciting.

You are excused for the caps.  Completely.  Well, this is what I get for watching hockey instead of paying attention to the Twinks game.  I'm really happy to see this move.  Somehow, I just don't get the same feeling they're going to wreck this young man like they wrecked Hicks. I feel for the dude, but this is exciting for us long-suffering fans.  I can't wait to see Mr. B in action.

HAVING THE VALUE OF HINDSIGHT

In this mornings Strib:  "but Twins manager Paul Molitor said this move is more about circumstance than Buxton’s play. With Aaron Hicks sidelined by a sore elbow (he’s likely headed for the disabled list) and Torii Hunter serving a two-game suspension, a sudden shortage of outfielders prompted the Twins to debut the No. 2 overall pick from the 2012 draft."

Down to 1 player on the bench, all Molitor had to do was call Terry Ryan.  In that same article, Molitor had a lot of nice things to say about Buxton.  And adds no small amount of caution.

Oh yeah:  MORE TRIPLES, PLEASE! :s-ctf:

I will be at Sundays game. I think I saw a BIG BUCK grazing in Arlington last night. He WAS pretty fast soooooooo I only saw a glimpse. Saturday ducets were 11th row behind home plate. Getting to watch Buxton debut PRICELESS! ABSOLUTELY GEEKED!!!!

That probably has to do with Buxton being a super prospect and having the potential to become a generational talent. No such thing could have ever been said about Hicks. Apples and oranges.

First time I went to Beloit was 2010. Since then, I've made one or two trips to the Twins Midwest League affiliate. That first year, I saw Brian Dozier, Aaron Hicks... and Mike Trout was the Cedar Rapids CF. He stood out on the field. No question he was the best player on the field.

In 2012, I saw Miguel Sano and Eddie Rosario and later Kennys Vargas.

In 2013, I went to Cedar Rapids for their home opener. My assumption is that Buxton would be fun to watch, a great athlete, but I went down there assuming that Sano would remain my #1 Twins prospect.

3 days later (or maybe even quicker, it was clear that Buxton was the best prospect in the organization... In fact, in my eyes, I thought that Buxton was a better prospect at the same stage than Trout.

People hear that and think that means that he will be a better player than Trout. Well, that's not how prospects worth. No one would have anticipated Trout becoming what he has. But from a talent standpoint, Buxton is right there.

I'm excited about this. I think defensively he can be a difference-maker. Add in what he can do offensively, and it's exciting.

I'm tempering my hopes for what he'll be in 2015 with the Twins, but this will be a good thing for him.

Astro fans are pretty bitter about his call up.

"I want to see him fail just so everyone knows Correa is definitively the best prospect in the majors."

"Buxton Will Be Sucking Exhaust of Correa His Entire Career."

"Ill never forget draft day

He was pouting on national tv. He looked like my daughter about to throw a fit after Correa was selected. Then when the Twins picked him he had a look like he couldn’t care less."

Post pictures if you're able. A lot of us will be living vicariously.

Well played Mr. Ryan, I'll shut up....FOR now.

Don't make promises you cannot keep.

It would be like me promising that I would never pick on anyone again.

AM,

I looked the other day and I think the modern day record was Granderson at 23.

I would not be shocked if buxton breaks that eventually, but five in 14 games would be a pace of mid 50's for a season(the all time record was 36 in the 30's).

So I have the under.
