  1. Fernando Rodney didn't have a very good Spring. I hope the Spring stats don't mean anything. Otherwise it will be Addison Reed closing sooner rather than later.
  2. All I can say is that we'll find out soon enough.
  3. The only way that the Twins will return to playoff and championship glory will be with new ownership. Period.
  4. Looks like Ervin Santana made a nice pitching audition today for some other teams.
  5. I see everyone above Paul Molitor as the problem. The Pohlads should fire Terry Ryan and, then, sell the team to someone who wants to put a winning product on the field.
  6. I'm ready to move on from Ryan. We need somebody new. It's time.
  7. Can we get a true lead-off hitter please!!!!!!! Someone like a Ben Revere. Aaron Hicks will NEVER be that guy.
  8. I say you're assuming a heck of a lot. And, yeah, go ahead and trade one of the few players the Twins have that, actually, has a good eye at the plate.
  9. How about getting some players who can hit the damn ball.
  10. The Twins' motto next year needs to be "The Future is Now!". Unless they take a legitimate next step from this year, this year was in vain. No more investing for the future. They need to take advice from the Toronto owenership and be committed to getting the players necessary to win now. There's no sin in doing that. Having said all of this, I have no hope that the Twins' ownership will do anything closely resembling taking actions to win now. This team needs offensive players. It needs a true leadoff hitter. Mauer should be given the respect he deserves -- at the bottom of the order or on the bench. I'm sick of that albatross cashing those huge checks and not feeling sick everyday that he is not living up to earning them. My only hope is in Molitor, Rosario and Sano. They are the only Twins I have any confidence in. Okay, that's my rant.
  11. Hasn't the City of Detroit suffered enough. It's sad when a loser manager doesn't know when to retire and would rather hurt his ball club with consecutive last place finishes than to swallow his pride and get the hell out of town. Now he's looking to spread his prideful disease. The Twins just need to get better each year and do to the Tigers what they did to the Orioles this year.
  12. How insulting to refer to Ben Revere as little Benny Revere. I'll refrain from writing what I feel about the poster of this article because I don't want to get kicked off this blog. Let's just say that the Twins could use a player like Ben Revere right now.
  13. Maybe Ryan fell asleep for his afternoon nap before he could make any more deals to help the Twins. Hey Ryan, The Villages in Florida is waiting for you.
  14. I won't call for Torii to resign. I'll leave that up to him and the organization to work it out.
  15. I don't live in, or am from, Minnesota, but have been a Twins' fan all my life. What is the feeling from most fans in Minnesota as to the reason for the two World Series wins?
  16. I actually mis-spoke. I was really thinking of after this season is over.
  17. I like this scenario, but I'm not ready for Molitor to move up just yet. I'd like to see him handle this team a little longer. Could we get rid of Ryan, now, though? Maybe Tom Kelly could be the interim GM.
  18. Looks like we're settling back into the pack now. It's been a fun, unexpected year, regardless. I think we'll be set up nicely for next year. We've got our prospects and hopefully will sign some free agents to fill some holes. I didn't expect this year, so I'm happy. I know about 1990 to 1991 turnaround, but you can't expect to go through the hell we went through with the Gardenhire regime and get into the playoffs in one year. It's a process and I'm optimistic. Oh and by the way -- Go Vikes!
  19. By the end of this month, they need to solidify there batting lineup (to get the best of their hitting potential) and their starting pitching. This will include any trades or acquisitions. When injuries occur, they need to make sure they have suitable backups in place. Molitor has half a season under his belt, so he should settle in for the second half playoff run. If their bullpen doesn't improve and/or their hitting doesn't improve, they won't make it to the playoffs.
  20. Hunter and Dozier are leaders and invaluable to a team dedicated to stocking its team with talented rookies and other young players. Whatever Hunter may have done in the past, I believe he has matured and given what he has contribted to the team this year, should be extended next year and offered a position with the organization as a coach when he no longer wants to be a player. Regardless, I trust Molitor to surround himself with the best personnel -- coaches and players. He has earned that trust.
  21. I'd like to get a leadoff hitter. Someone like we had in the early 2000's in Shannon Stewart. I would really like to get someone who can bunt to get on base or move people over. Also a quality reliever. Unless we have both of these in the organization somewhere.
  22. How many plate appearances will he need for ROY?
  23. I agree. The best way to kill a player's drive is to give him a ton of money too soon. These kids have to earn it. In my opinion, Mauer was given way too much.
  24. We need to keep Hicks because you know that no matter his flaws, he'll be sure to flourish on another team. That's just the way it seems to have been over the years. I'm hoping that Molitor will change all of that.
  25. Maybe it's just me, but I'm more upset at the impotent hitting for the Twins. The only one I have confidence in, now, is Sano. I hope the rest of the team doesn't rub off on him. I would love to see Molitor sit some people -- not matter their stature.
