John Bonnes Site Manager Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Hi everyone, It's been a while since I've been able to participate significantly in the Twins Daily forums. The truth is that it's been some time since I've been able to check in on Twins Daily or even some of the new sites. The teenage years (particularly the college admission process) has been consuming our family's agenda and this long winter break is providing a much needed solstice. All of which makes me even more thankful for our wonderful moderation team at Twins Daily. it is a mostly thankless job; they spend way too much time dealing with posts with which the rest of us would rather overlook. But due to their efforts, we are able to overlook them and continue reading analysis and opinions that don't devolve into tripe and bile. I know for a fact that these forums are envied by several other Minnesota sports media entities and for good reason. Their (and all of your) hard work and diligence keeps it at that level. So please join me in thanking them for all their work in 2014 and toast to 2015. And while you're at it, pat yourselves on that back too. We truly appreciate all those who contribute their time and energy to make Twins Daily what it is. Bring on 2015! Sincerely,John
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 All of you are fantastic. Can't thank you enough for all the work you do to keep these forums running.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Great work everyone and glad your back John. Though I don't think you're fooling anyone implying that you're a teenager busy trying to get into college!
Nick Nelson Site Manager Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Thank you all so much. We take great pride in this being a community where people can come have civil discussions everyday, and without all of your hard work that simply wouldn't be possible.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I certainly appreciate all that the moderators here at Twins Daily do! Their patience in not banning more people is amazing to me. Ha! But, we've got 99% very good comments on this site, and that is largely due to the efforts of these good people who do a thankless job. So, to make it not thankless, I say Thank You too!
biggentleben Verified Member Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Glad this has comments as I normally wouldn't have caught it in my periodic check-ins on the Twins part of the forum. I've been a member and a moderator of forums for nearly 20 years at this point (joined my first online forum in 1996), and I've been very appreciative of the attempts of the moderation team here to have a discussion on any issue that does come forth in a respectful and open manner rather than railing on anyone who does cross a line or face a report from another member.
James Verified Member Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks gang. You all do an excellent job keeping this a place where excellent (and fun) conversations can take place. Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks to all of you who catch my errors. You guys do yeoman work on this site to ensure it is one of the best around. Thank you all.
Steven Buhr Verified Member Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Just want to add my thanks to all the moderators. I can't imagine WHY you do what you do, but I'm awfully glad you're doing it! Keep up the good work. It's thanks to you that TD is such an enjoyable place to conduct our virtual conversations about all things Twins.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Thank You and a Happy Holidays to the Moderators. You ladies and gentlemen are the Bomb Diggity!
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 In the year of the centennial of the famous World War I Christmas truce, I'll say you folks have done some good work here, too. Have a great holiday, and dream of Spring training.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Thank You and a Happy Holidays to the Moderators. You ladies and gentlemen are the Bomb Diggity! You said 'ladies,' plural, so I was just wondering to which moderators were you referring? To all, thank you. I do this because I'm outside of Twins Territory and it's important to me to have a great place to commune with like-minded baseball heads and fellow Twins fans. While I wouldn't exactly say moderating is a 'labor of love' in and of itself, the end result far outpaces the very occasional headaches along the way. I wish everyone the merriest and most joyous of whatever you celebrate. And the happiest New Year!
Jerr Verified Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Always an informative and civil site to enjoy baseball chat! Thanks and keep up the great work!!!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Thanks mods, your contribution is much appreciated. Happy Holidays to all on the board. Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 While we're at it, I want to add my thanks to the owners, without whom I wouldn't know what to do with a couple hours every week. I appreciate all that goes into something like this, and I like having this place to enjoy. For free, no less. Thanks also to those who add content. And thank you to all the forum rats, folks like me who enjoy talking baseball. I might disagree with you on occasion, but I read virtually every post (or skim, in the case of Doc ) and together we have a pretty great community here. Happy holidays to all.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 You said 'ladies,' plural, so I was just wondering to which moderators were you referring? Sorry mom. I am so use to calling my wife "Chief" that I think I got the two Chiefs mixed up. That would probably explain why I have been asking my wife questions about her time fighting in the Napoleonic Wars the last few weeks. It just roles off the tongue better - "Lady and Gentlemen" sounds sort of odd.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Thanks for all the hard work put in by our moderators. Have a wonderful holiday season!

From your avatar picture I would have thought you were at least in your mid-twenties. In all seriousness, kudos to the owners, moderators, bloggers, etc. who contribute to this site. You do an excellent job and this site is a premium webpage. Happy Holidays to everyone.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Hope 2015 goes even better than 2014. The off-season has seemed busier than the regular season -- although I dearly miss RB's intros to game threads, Thanks to the mods for their diligence, patience and humor; thanks to the owners for providing the best Twins site around (and keeping it up and running) and for all of the articles you write; thanks to those of you who blog and write articles for giving us fodder for discussion and thanks to all who post and keep the site lively. In 2015, I hope we all find out what TD is like when the Twins have a winning season,

Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Moderators, a necessary evil. I still feel like this community is maybe a touch over moderated, but that's probably better than being undermoderated, whatever that might look like. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.
ashbury Verified Member Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I like the several references to "community" in this thread. The word probably best sums up what the moderators are trying to achieve here.
