  1. Give me a kasota gold top and ditch the red jerseys forever. Put strips on the road grays, and give me the two time WS winning M cap at least on alternate days. Maybe A blue cap with a gold M to pair with the Kasota gold top. Maybe never wear red again. Anywhere. Kasota gold and blue only
  2. Would have loved to see the Twins do the Baez deal that landed him in Detroit. Story could be a good candidate to bring in, but I don't like his upside towards the end of whatever contract it would take to bring him to MN.
  3. I'm looking forward to the continuing trend of new voices on Twins broadcast teams. Bremer, you're next, thanks for all you've done, but it's time to hang them up. Marney and Morny 2021!
  4. News coming out this afternoon that the Tigers will NOT be bringing back their manager, Brad Ausmus.
  5. Ring ring, ring ring, Doug: Hello? Bill: Yeah, hi, is this Doug Baseball? Doug: Yeah. Bill: We're having a sale at the fire store. Doug: What? Bill: Yeah, we're having a sale at the fire store, you're on sale. Doug: I don't understand what... Bill: YOU'RE FIRED DOUG! Doug: What was that about a sale at the store? Bill: FIRED. CANNED. YOU. ARE. OUT. GONE. GOODBYE. Doug: Did you say you have canned foods? Bill: Jesus, Doug. We're letting you go. Doug: Where? Summer league? Bill: No. You've been released. Doug: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUdge.
  6. Still waiting for that free pizza code, you guys.
  7. It seemed to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind... raise your glasses and toast to what MAY have been a great season. Maybe Perk will rebound. Maybe the Twins will find a starter or two on the scrap heap. Maybe 2017 isn't lost before it's even begun. But for Trevor May, it is.
  8. On a day when the organization lost Trevor May for the season +, it's good to have something to be happy about.
  9. I think the Braves already signed all of those guys.
  10. I'm a pretty big opponent of greyhound racing, and animal abuse, I just don't see it with the Iditarod teams. I'm sure there are bad mushers out there, as there are bad eggs in every pocket of humanity, but it seems by and large the mushers and kennels who raise dogs truly care for their animals. It can be life or death out there on the trail, and they depend on each other for survival. But I also realize that I've got rose colored glasses, as the adventure aspect of the sport just makes me love it.
  11. Waiting for 2019? The Twins window keeps getting pushed back. I hope this new regime is able to identify and develop talent to put the organization back on the map and make it into a perennial contender. Wishing and hoping and... waiting. That's Twins baseball.
  12. I don't know if you can blame WBC, or pitching in relief last year, or really anything in particular. UCL's break. Screws fall out all the time. The world's an imperfect place. I learned all that watching Breakfast Club. Go enjoy some brunch, pop in an 80's movie, and try to remember the glory that was the 1987 Twins where the Dazzle Man Dan Gladden's hair will always blow in the wind.
  13. Yeah hi, first time long time, I wanted to call in today to talk about my symptoms. With hope of contending in 2017 quickly disappearing (like sand through my fingers) I've become increasingly addicted to the Iditarod race, which will last for only another week. What am I supposed to do to fill the void in my life after the race is over and I'm forced to resume the misery that is life as a Twins fan?
  14. Sometimes you eat the dog, sometimes the dog eats you. What no one is talking about right now is how this may effect his DJ career. Can't be scratching records like a pro with just one hand. Is this the end of DJ MAZR?!?
  15. Any other Iditarod fans out there? I'm really geeking out on the race this year and looking to see if there are any other Twins fan constantly refreshing the race standings and reading everything they can find on the interwebz. -Paul
  16. With Trevor May likely headed for TJ, the Twins season continues to spiral into less than exciting territory. I keep myself entertained by obsessively following the Iditarod. https://www.adn.com/section/outdoors-adventure/Iditarod/ Dogs are cute, and cold is in my blood. Seems like a great adventure.
  17. As a proponent of a good time, I rule against the Orioles and the no-fun league shenanigans. Let there be pie in the face! Let there be shoe strings on fire! Let there be icy-hot on the jock straps!
  18. Division Winners: AL Central: Tigers NL Central: Cubs AL West: Astros NL West: Dodgers AL East: Blue Jays NL East; Nationals AL WC Rangers Rays NL WC Pirates Giants After that I think we see the Rangers over Rays who then beat the Astros, Pirates finally winning a coin flip game, and then losing to Cubs. Tigers over Blue Jays thanks to a revitalized Verlander and healthy Miggy. Nats over Dodgers. Rangers over Jays Cubs over Nats Rangers over Cubs for the series, in 6.
  19. I think this team performs at a level closer to last year's pythag, and finishes at or just below .500, but with a significantly better 2nd half. I look forward to the future, and the young guys playing that we've started seeing with this roster last year will continue to build and I'm excited.
  20. These clueless uninformed rubes are the same folks that are going to vote Trump into the presidency. There's still time to move to Canada. We can still be Twins fans there, just ask Seth Stohs, he's only a rocks' throw from the CA border.
  21. I think there are some people who think MLB has a duty to be the ethics/morality police. They have a domestic violence policy, and I think 30 games (at more than $2mil lost) is a good starting point for an altercation in which the police filed no charges. A weapon was fired. Yes. I work for the Coast Guard, and in today's climate, if you get a DUI, the Coast Guard will show you the door. And domestic violence is a career killer too. But I am in a business which requires the public trust, in which judgment matters and you're never "off the clock." If you work at a hardware store, and you get drunk and have an incident in which you fire your gun and the police come and no charges are filed, should the hardware store fire you? Should they suspend you for a couple months? I think no. For the most part I think what happens at home happens at home, especially with the lack of formal charges. MLB is making a statement here, and likely Jose Reyes loses significant time. This is a step in the right direction.
  22. I don't think the Twins tanked. I think they may have slowed their recovery by truly embracing a plan of building for the future, but I don't think they tanked. They went from a division winning team to the bottom of the barrel thanks to some bad injuries, and a "window" of opportunity closing. They're not a Billy Beane team, they don't play to be competitive every season. They appear to me to be a team building for a window, betting on the future. But they didn't tank, at least not the way the Astros did, but maybe no one has ever tanked the way the Astros did.
  23. I don't believe in Luck either, but it has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, Muhammad, Yaweh, Buddah or any other gods out there. This team will succeed based on the way they perform. It'll seem flukey some times, and things will go great and terrible at times, but it won't be luck, just coincidence. Physics too. I think this team regresses from their 2015 record, but not by much. They'll be bad early, and better after the break, building to what should be a serious post-season run in 2017. I just don't know if they're good enough to beat some of the powerhouses that I think we'll see in the NL, where things really are boom or bust.
  24. Mike, Mr. Bates, sir, I'd sign them all. But I don't think anyone would take those dollar amounts in todays game. Update that 5 years and 15 million, and three team options for 10/mil a piece and now we've got a debate. I still don't know who takes that. Duffy, yes, but I wouldn't offer, Berrios (maybe, he is so high on himself he may prefer to ride it out), Sano, no, Buxton... maybe, but hard to see him giving potentially 8 years to MN for 45 mil. But he's young, and would still have considerable earning power after those 8 years were up. Yikes. Now we're thinking. I think Kepler takes it, but I'm no sure Minnesota would be willing to offer after so little MLB experience, even if the man does look to be the real deal. And Rosario, I wouldn't offer that deal, but I think he'd he inclined to take it if the Twins offered.
