  1. I hope that Terry Ryan is keeping the wiley veterans up in hopes to wheel and deal them to teams that have dreams of competing. Clearly he's not going north with the 25-best guys on the roster.
  2. That's like, your opinion, man.
  3. Woof indeed. I think you are exactly correct that the bullpen will be in flux early and often this season. I see a lot of moving parts coming and going with the pitching staff in general. With so many quality young arms at AA/AAA, I think that any prolonged poor performance will quickly be replaced with a young gun from the farm. Jarrod Burton would never survive in this year's pen.
  4. Mike Pelfrey is a sasquatch. It's probably going to be useful to bring in a sasquatch in the middle innings to quiet an opposing team. SASQUATCH FOR LIFE! PS Anthony Swarzak has still not tweeted back to me to confirm or deny my Mike Pelfrey Sasquatch rumors.
  5. I really hope John was blackout drunk during this episode, otherwise I have no idea how he can defend half of his opinions. Holy cow. Whenever Aaron Gleeman is the voice of reason I get scared.
  6. I really really really hope that we don't see Brian Duensing giving up more of those taters. I love tater tot hotdish as much as the next Minnesotan, but let's just not. okay? Thanks Brian.
  7. I think I like John's line the best, and for once I agree with the rankings for the gentlemen around the AL Central.
  8. Fun story. I hope it's still fun when he's on the mound for the Twins with runners on base. I'll be rooting for his success, but I'll be ready to hate him at a moment's notice.
  9. Boyer makes my blood boil. Which I suppose is a good thing. Great story too. It will be hard for me to hate him, but with Burton gone, I need someone to loathe.
  10. I think all of the TD writers are smoking a little some of that wacky-tabackey. Dozier will not hit .260+ I think the rest of the slash line are consistent with what we should expect, but I don't think he'll get the average up unless he sacrifices considerable power. I hope 2015 is great for Dozier... but I'm worried it will be the beginning of the decline.
  11. Lonnie is better than Conner. I know Lonnie has underperformed the last couple seasons, but I think 2015 will be his coming out party.
  12. I think Kurt Suzuki is better than Alex Avila. I don't know that the numbers bear that out, and Zook certainly isn't a defensive whiz, but Avila just seems like a perpetual underachiever.
  13. Santana, I imagine, will not prove to be a stud at SS. I just don't think he's that guy. He's a place holder until he loses a step and Polanco or even Eduardo Escobar force him out of there.
  14. I hope you're right... but I also think that Mike Pelfrey is probably in line for a spot start or two if that happens, a la Anthony Swarzak in years past. May likely will be in AAA for the foreseeable future with bullpen arms the first to get the call to replace big Pelf moving into the rotation to cover a potentially injured or ineffective pitcher. Hopefully the Twins find a trade suitor for Pelfrey and this is a mute point before opening day.
  15. I can't remember ever hearing this much good buzz about Rick Anderson during spring training or any other time of the year. Three cheers for Neil Allen.
  16. Tommy Milone doesn't even wear high socks or stirrups. What a bum. I cannot stand by that decision. or the decision to roster Eduardo Nunez. Or most of everything else that happened over the weekend. Except for maybe Hicks to AAA. I get that. I hope he figures it out and has a successful return to MLB.
  17. Why can't the Twins just be the Washington Nationals? I don't agree with most of the moves the Twins made over the weekend. I will not say they are wrong (well, at least not in this comment), but I do not agree. I will not say they are idiots, because they have a considerable amount of data I don't have access to, and money invested in this team, but damn, it sure doesn't look like the best club they could have leaving Fort Myers. Bah humbug.
  18. The Twins are wrong. The time for Trevor May is now. And maybe I'd buy the argument that it's not time for Trevor May if Tommy Milone wasn't one of the guys standing in his way. In certainly shouldn't be Tommy Milone time. Even Mike Pelfrey has more upside than bologna Milone.

  21. Thank you Parker. I was afraid you were going to tell me that Dozier's defense was elite, and that he is the 2nd coming of Jesus. Good stuff. Especially enjoyed you putting the defensive metrics and all that gobblygook into laymens terms.
  22. Snow. ha. Oh there are some simple joys of living outside of Minnesota.
  23. Can someone convince Joe Mauer to start wearing the short pants and the high socks?
  24. I actually don't hate this. Well done. I don't entirely understand it, but I don't hate it.
