1. Of course the system is broken, but the Twins recognized it was broken, and they're attempting to tape up some holes. They needed power arms, they drafted some power arms, and in the next couple years you'll start to see dividends of that stragety at the big league level. The question that remains for me, is, when this team is contention ready, will the front office be willing to make big ticket acquisitions (like an ace free agent pitcher) to put them over the top? Or will they still be looking to promote from within?
2. The biggest questionmark for me, concernign prospects, as the season approaches, is Alex Meyer. I want to see that tall body and long arms finally get in sync and show us what he can do, either as a starter or out of the pen, I don't care, I just want him to shine.
3. Almost unfair to rank Park against all these young men still cutting their teeth on the game of baseball, but he is technically a rookie. It'll be interesting to see how he does with the speed of MLB pitching. I think you're a little high on Burdi, I don't think he's top 10 material, but definitely top 15, and so I don't really have an arguement here except personal preference. Good stuff. I loved to prospect handbook, and I'll keep adding to my colletion year after year.
4. Ozzie is a good bench bat, and I'd rather see the Twins use Danny Santana as a super utility guy than rostering Eduardo Nunez (dreams do come true!), but I think of the three that Tonkin has the best chance to make the team, and that Sanana is a near lock. Ozzie? A coin flip at best. Which is crazy for a guy who has the flag pole power to right/right-center. I mean wow. It'll be hard to watch him succeed elsewhere when he gets claimed.
5. If you don't want Joe Benson to grow out his mane and make good on his prospect status from years past, then you're lying to yourself. Or maybe you, like me, wish that Aaron Hicks was still in the organization to make good on the last year of development. John Ryan Murphey? woof. Or maybe you still think Ben Revere and his lack of power, but million dollar smile should be in CF? Or that the Twins should have stuck with and then resigned Denard Span despite his injury history? Yes. All of those things. As long as it's not Danny Santana or Darin Mastrioni I'll be a happy man on opening day, win, lose or extra inning marathon.

Aaron Hicks is back, Ervin Santana is PED free, Eric Fryer is playing catcher, and something called Ryan O'Rourke is a loogy. New players! This may not be a sustainable pace for this ball club, but that doesn’t make it any less fun to watch. This ball club is playing great, highlighted by Glen Perkins and (gasp) Blaine Boyer at the back of the bullpen coupled with quality starts from the starters and very timely hitting from the offense. This week’s show is all about feeling good. E Rolf is away on his honeymoon after his wedding last week (congrats!), but Cody, Jay and Paul put together a show that covers all the baseball we’ve missed in the last two weeks. We reflect on Aaron Hick’s time with the big league ball club, Paul eats crow (Blaine Boyer Talk), Target Field gets compostable (NOT combustable) cups, and Joe Mauer hits the ball over the outfield fence. All of this, a look at the budding young star, Max Kepler, and more on this week’s show.

And of course, beer, baseball, and the news.

If you enjoy our podcast, please tell your friends about us and take a couple extra minutes and rate and review us on iTunes. 15. Let the good times roll! I don't know how long this happy streak continues, but it sure is fun to watch winning baseball. Hoot and hollar!
16. BPA Best Player Available. That's what the Twins need to do. That being said, I'd like to see the Twins go for upside, for potential, and not for something safe. The Twins have the makings of a decade long run in their system right now, and likely will not smell a top-10 pick in the coming years. Taking a chance on a uber-high ceiling guy may be the best bet here, if they're trying to pick between apples and apples. Go big.
17. No matter who drafts him, Kyle Funkhouser, RHP, Louisville, they will immediately have one of the best names in MiLB. I'm not sure what that's worth, but Funkhouser is up there with Dinkelman.

This week we're talking Eddie Rosario and his MLB debut, the Twins actually winning a bunch of baseball games, what to make of Kyle Gibson's success despite his lake of strike outs and all those walks (Kevin Correia 2.0?!), and what's a "more worstest waste" of a 40-man roster spot, Doug Bernier or Eduardo Nunez. Down on the Pond we talk about 2014 1st rounder Nick Gordon, make bets on how many home runs he'll hit in 2015, and talk about the player he's going to grow into (he's still only 19!). And of course, beer, baseball, and the news. [/url] If you enjoy our podcast, please tell your friends about us and take a couple extra minutes and rate and review us on iTunes. Ratings and reviews are not how we pay the bills, but they might be in the future. Source

20. That sounds like a heavy price to pay. And you can't just "cut Nolasco," even if that's what we'd all like to see for a guy with an ERA north of 10. I wouldn't make that deal. Lucroy is great, but if Pinto is truly a long term C, then the Twins shouldn't move him, they should play him. I don't think he's a good enough catcher to be the everyday guy, and I don't think the Brewers do either.
21. I don't know if I would agree that Meyer is getting bored at the AAA level, but I do agree that it's time for the Twins to call him up and see what he can do against MLB hitters. I wouldn't be opposed to starting him in the pen, either. Just get him up and see what happens.
22. If this team keeps "building for next year" year after year, they'll never get anywhere. At some point they need to start building for now. And I think the team is at that point. They have to start adding major league talent to go with the young guys on the horizon.
23. DOUG BERNIER! I'M SO EXCITED, I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT. I'M ABOUT THE LOSE CONTROL AND I THINK I LIKE IT. *throws up all over myself.
24. We'll see him when we see him. And that's about as much as I'd care to speculate on the topic. The Twins have a strange history of prospect promotion, featuring both exceptionally long drawn out minor league careers, and way to speedy promotions. Neither of which tends to be what all of us fans want. We'll see him when we see him, and not a moment before.
