Wasn't Detmers traded already?

And then untraded within minutes lol.

Appears everyone is a little jumpy on deadline day

I don't understand the Neto infatuation.  Not just for the Twins but Boston, and Tampa were mentioned as destinations as well. I get that he has good power for the position but that K rate is a rally killer.  I' don't know why we would want to do a deal.

Not that the teams read them, but sites like this give fans a place to vent their frustrations and voice their displeasure with their favorite team. Then the beat writers and national writers start posting about fan frustration and asking the GMs what they are doing to improve the team, often times throwing player names out there in speculation.

I live in LA and have seen Neto play a bunch. My take is that Neto is a player. Pretty good glove, not as good as Kriedler but a heck of a lot better than Lee, and can hit. Not hitting as good as usual this year but that may be the price of playing on a lousy team with no one around you. He would be a major addition. As usual, all depends on the price. Assuming Culpepper is part of the price, add two in the 15 plus range and maybe we have a deal? That may be too light.

Timeline works. Neto at SS for the next 2-3 years with Kriedler a IF UTL, then Houston takes over SS, Neto slides over to 2B or 3B with Lee in the other spot. Lewis stays at 1B.

Twins made two under the radar moves that may help.  They are just as likely not to help at all.  Cleveland and white sox made helpful additions.  Twins not yet and as of this posting there is only 1 hour and 45 minutes to go.  If this us all they do im disappointed.

I don't think it's fair to call Minter "under the radar." He'll end up one of the better relievers traded and given health certainly helps the pen.

The starter...

Neto and Detmers for Culpepper, Tait and Rodriguez as a start?

Would love that but probably too light for the Angels. BB Trade Values says add in Ryan Gallagher and its a "Minor Overpay" by the Angels. Add in Zebby Matthews, Kendry Rojas, or Charlie Soto plus Gallagher and its a "fair trade". I say that's too much. I would give them Emma, Culpepper, Tait and Gallagher though.

Why I said as a start.  Assumed it would take more.

Yeah Minter is already the 3rd best reliever we have, and I can argue 2nd best reliever. 20+ playoff games under his belt too

Now, we can't have you two agreeing on things. That's what makes the reading on this board interesting and fun!

I would trade Culpepper in a package for Neto.  Neto is a legit 30/30 candidate and he's a pretty good SS.  Some of these defensive "metrics" are so contrary it's ridiculous.  One says he's negative 8 runs, another says he more than solid.  I've seen him play.  He's better than anyone we have by far except for Marek Houston.

As I've said a couple times already.  The other advantage the Twins would have with Neto vs. Culpepper is that Neto PLAYS.  He played 155 games 2 years ago.  He's played 107 out of 111 games this year for the Angels.  Culpepper has to overcome his injury issues to truly reach his ceiling.  His history gives me reasonable doubt he never will.  That's why I would include Em-Rod in a deal for Neto that would include Reid Detmers.  The Twins need to add guys that PLAY.

Maybe that's why Larnach is being shopped. The front office don't want them fighting over #9.

Depending on the price of course but if a fair deal could be reached.

I'd love to see Neto in a Twins uniform... I'd like him to pull his pants down though.

Angel's SS Zach Neto looked like he was wearing red knee pads thanks to the white 4th of July socks. He had already changed to solid red by his second at bat. :

I think you mean to say pant legs but then again, I am not from NoDak. 😂

But, just to be clear, RiverB…we’re not judging.

was it RiverB that was complaining a couple of nights ago that the shapely girl advertisements  were interupting his reading? Not sure if the reading was TD or Playboy......

That was 100 Percent Not Me.

Maybe more accurately 170 Percent not me.

Meanwhile, I can almost hear the TC PR machine (which includes 100% of mainstream media) scrambling to produce their post 5 PM pieces to rationalize neither buying nor selling. (Not withstanding the attempt on Larnach and the 25-30 innings we’ll get from Minter.)
