I thought about that, but is someone who is hitting well with 90 at-bats really as valuable as someone hitting slightly less well but getting 150 at-bats? I decided to go with amount of activity, at-bats or innings pitched, as a measure of the role they play on the team. Everyone is free to disagree about the best way to do this.
