Pitching depth moves are necessary. I appreciate how players like Noah Davis continue to fight to get their shot in the big leagues. Every once in a while they shine in that short window and stick. Thanks for the article @Cody Christie. I probably wouldn’t have noticed him otherwise. I learned my lesson writing off the addition Carl Willis years ago based on his past performance. Good luck to Noah.

I appreciate the detailed profile on him. Nice to know something about him if he is called up, which I honestly hope isn’t necessary.

Most shocking news is Twins gave up cash. Unless "cash considerations" doesn't actually involve any money.

They had an old collection of Johnny Cash LPs. I think that was the "cash considerations".

I'd like them to promote guys and use their own guys more often, faster. If they don't think they have guys, maybe they should resign.

I don't disagree with you entirely, but resigning might be a little harsh.

I do think, at times, they are just STUCK in a sense of paranoia about the depth issue. I think injuries and a couple bad performances at AAA really exploded their idea of depth this season. But at the same time, in reflection at least, I don't know that they built the best AAA roster they could have.

I can't blame them for injuries to Martin and Rodriguez and Eeles recovering from surgery. I can't blame them for Morris getting hurt, even though Adams has gotten a chance to show if he has ML pen potential. But I never liked the bullpen they put together for St Paul.

I don't like the way Camargo was handled in 2024 when they could have given him a brief shot. And I don't like the way the treated McCusker in his brief opportunity, even though he might have failed.

To me it's not just about this season and all the injuries at AAA, it's more about the past couple of years. Sometimes you just don't have someone very good to promote from AAA for various reasons. And dipping down to a non 40 man AA player probably doesn't make sense. But the FO is in charge of building that AAA roster.

Of course, and let's be honest for a moment, the injuries for this season, and the performance of Miranda, and Julien...at least until recently...were unexpected and really handcuffed what moves the FO could make.

I don't know why the Twins think that they can fix a player that LAD has given up on. IMO, LAD has one of the best development programs. IMO, if LAD can't do anything with a player, nobody can. Let's see, how have they done in the past with Margot, Carmargo & Cartaya? If they think they can improve on a Rox reject, then I'd understand.

Falvey is LAD's favorite dumping site. If they want to unload a player, they'll call him up & give him some analytical spiel & he bites. Why DFA a player for nothing when you have Falvey who'll pay for them.

I suppose they think that qualifies for a deadline acquisition & say we're good, we tried.

😅 Are we becoming like the Kansas City A's- foils for the 50s-60s Yanks?

If you think a few injuries or underperforming players are unexpected, I welcome you to your first year watching baseball.

It’s the kind of performance that might end a pitcher’s season (or even career), but the Twins….

If I had a dime.

While Davis’s big-league ERA is unsightly, his minor-league track record in 2025 paints a different picture. In 32 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City, he’s posted a 3.94 ERA…

He’s pitched 165 innings in AAA with a 4.84 ERA and 1.494 WIP. Couldn’t get anyone out in AAA as recently as last year, in a much larger sample.

There’s always the chance lightning strikes. But, it’s the optionability. Gotta churn those extreme low-leverage innings-eaters.

I think a team like the Twins should ALWAYS look at arms that couldn't take that next step as a starter and MIGHT have the mix to be a good reliever.

Agreed, As ridiculous at this acquisition looks on the surface, why not take a chance? At this juncture, the Twins might as well take some chances on these types of players, and maybe just maybe, as slim a chance as it might be, they could end up finding a useful player. As long  as he's not blocking any MLB-ready prospects, it's worth a look.

Talk about an earth-shaking move! I think all of baseball is rattled by this transaction!

And we wonder why this one didn't make headlines on ESPN!

I think we are looking at this more than the Twins most likely are.  They spent a little money to get priority on a player they thought would get picked by someone else in waivers.  Most likely there isn't enough there to be an MLB player but maybe just maybe things will click.  There is ample history of players struggling then doing well with another team.  There is also ample history of most of those players moving onto another team or out of baseball.   For me this is a AAA arm currently and for that it is ok.  I am not extrapolating this out anymore than that.   I will say the Twins haven't been great at these reclamation projects.  Most have gone on to other teams.  We did get Coloumbe back though for cheap so I guess give them some props for that.

Sweeper, Sinker, Cutter.

Whatever happened to: Fastball, Curve, Change, Slider??

Just another JUNK Baller !

Almost no curve balls are thrown in MLB at all anymore. By any team.
