He's perfected the art of slowing down just enough to create a reliable dive to make the play look harder than it was.

Jim Edmunds perfected that move in ST,Louis

Not sure if that dive was necessary, but who’s counting

This was understandably not a popular opinion. But I’m not here for popularity! 😂

it also may have been necessary

I think he probably wanted to avoid running in to the wall, which he probably would have if he stayed on his feet

Plus 24.7% WPA for all who celebrate that worthless stat.

And Duran got credit for the last out. Shrug

This is interesting- it’s almost like you guys would rather have something to b*tch about than to enjoy the most exciting win of the year.

I don't know about the rest of you but I enjoyed the win. Pitching kept the Twins in it just long enough, Jax and Varland were good. Duran did enough to get the job done. I think once it warms up a little more Duran will be back to his old self. Got to get the bats producing a little more offense.

I  not sure what channel surfing brought me upon it, but it was a combination of seeing someone chase excellence over decades of following the show and recording/ cataloguing prices of repeated items they used, then drilling it so he had it all in mind when he annually attended the show (kinda the adult version of spelling bee prep), and Bob Barker knew him whenever he was in the audience. Apparently no one told new management about him when Drew Cary took over, so when he aced a final package, they suspected cheating, and couldn't be convinced otherwise.

Anyway, bringing up Price is Right reminded me of that...

Last year, it was the early series against the White Sox and Angels that jump started the Twins. It'll need to be the same this year. I'm not counting on it but if they can sweep the two teams - they'd be at 13-15. Angels appear to be a better team than they were in 2025 so the Twins have their work cut out for them. But when you dig yourself a hole, this is what happens.

I'll have to check it out! Not to be that guy but I'm gonna be that guy, imagine if he put that same time, energy, and effort into med/law school, what kind of career he would've had

he was a bit in no man’s land…

Staying on his feet and letting his momentum carry him could have risked a full speed collision into the wall. That would have been way worse.
