I have read all the comments.  There is nothing left to say.  Good or bad, this is a very disappointing time for the team.  Having a three game lead for the last WC is fine, but what does it truly mean?  The Twins play like they don't care and attendance says the fans don't either.

Twins just plain stink.  They are 5-16 in their last 21 games and playing very poorly.  Even Atteberry and Gladden are having trouble trying to blame it on bad luck and bad umpiring.  Twins will win Tuesday with Lopez .

this team... just plain and simple ....can not hit ... starting pitching really isnt all that bad..but oh boy those relievers. Sad what has happened to Lewis, Jeffers, Miranda, Larnach and Wallner ..not a clutch player on this team at all..Julien still just flails away or lets strike 3 go by..and Lee just seems lost now. Castro has peaked also...OMG where did it all go ????

Hitting is all about feel and confidence, both of which are MIA. 22-38 this month in 9 games.

22–38?  Because your first sentence was about hitting, I assumed that you were saying they were hitting .579 for the month.  But that isn't true.  Then I thought you meant they had a 22 wins and 38 losses record this month and I wondered how they did that in just 9 games?  And then I gave up trying to to decipher this comment.

Sorry. Runs scored. It was a bad post on my part.

I think unless we get Correa and Buxton back ASAP, we're going to be on the outside looking in. Both Lee and Lewis look like they need a AAA trip, but with nobody to replace them, won't happen. I feel a lot of this slump is mental, they've all but given up. Correa could help with that. One bright note, we get to see Pablo pitch to a bad team, hopefully stop the bleeding a bit?

Target Field was totally dead. No energy, no fans. The team has no energy or swagger, either. They're just going through the motions right now. At least Carlos Santana's absolute unwillingness to step off 1B to field a throw didn't come back to haunt us yet again. Not that it matters when the batters are totally hopeless.

'I definitely wanted to see more here but maybe it comes tomorrow, maybe it comes the next day.'

Or maybe next week or month.... hell, perhaps 2025 or 2026... ya know... whatever... whenever it comes it will be great!  Oh and 'it' is hard to define, but you know it when you see it and I'll let you know when 'it' arrives....

I actually feel bad for the Twins "Young" starters, first they are coming up to or past their most innings ever and they are being asked to be perfect (pitching decisions and lack of offense) and for the most part IMO they haven't been taught to pitch but more to throw.

And they wasted 83 innings on Varland in the minors, Those or at least some of those could have been used to help the others keep their innings down by using him as a 2 inning starter or something.

I would agree, there didn't seem to be the keep it close until the end and make a come back, it felt like after it was 0-4 it was over.

Different day same problem, walk hitters and pay the price.

Different day same problem, hitters swinging at pitches feet out of the zone.

Looking for Buxton and Correa to save the season is wishful thinking.Correa hasn't played in 2 months and Buxton about a month.

What happens tonight when Lopez hits 83 pitches, does Rocco say thanks but we're going to the BP.

The pitchers you're talking about didn't earn their way to the big show based on expectations or past or even present results. All 3 of the rookies were buried in the depth chart, but have honestly made the absolute most they possibly could of their lucky breaks this year. I think they've all got to be incredibly happy with their situation.

Simeon Woods Richardson was on his way to the bullpen or a DFA if something didn't change drastically this year. He was probably #8-9 on the rotational depth (Lopez, Ryan, Paddack, Ober, Desclafani, Varland, Festa at least ahead of him) chart coming into Spring Training. It looked like his career was over before it started. If you were to tell him he was going to start 25 games the Twins (on pace for 28) with an ERA of 3.96 before Spring Training, the guy would have been over the moon.

If you'd told David Festa before Spring Training that he'd be outpitched in AAA by Randy Dobnak, and possibly by Adam Plutko, and Caleb Boushley, and he'd own an ERA near 4.00 when he got his number called, but he'd still get 10 starts (on pace for 14) at the MLB level and be considered for a playoff rotation spot, I think he'd be ecstatic, too.

Then Zebby Matthews started the year in A+ ball. What would you have considered him in Minnesota's rotation depth chart? 20th? Telling him he was going to be pitching at Target Field, and his first 3 starts at the MLB level would all be good would have been unbelievable.

The focus has been on the poor hitting, and for good reason, but the Twins have had lousy starting pitching and relief pitching over the past month as well. This isn't a team which is struggling in one facet. The team has been scuffling and playing poorly in every single aspect of baseball.

From fielding and baserunning to hitting and pitching. All of it.

Varland hasn't exactly earned a spot on the MLB team with his performance. He's in the minors because he doesn't pitch better than the players they have in the majors.

Assuming it’s runs scored & we’re down 16 - it’s not real clear.

I know that the solution isn't pulling up even more rookies from AAA.

Note to Pohlad Family. You have to spend money (obtaining new players that might help at the end of the season to make the playoffs), to earn money (filling the seats at Target Field). Take cues from the Royals who took that approach (e.g. Tommy Pham who hit the Twins well last weekend).

I get the bitterness with the ownership - with payroll - with lack of action!

Pham was 2-4 on Friday - he was 1-4 Saturday with 3 strikeouts - he was 0-2 on Sunday. He’s -.2 WAR for the year …….he’s got 370 AB’s with 8 HR & he’s hitting .253. My point is just because they are different names, & names you recognize, it doesn’t mean they are a good move, IMO.

Miranda made a couple really nice plays at third base. That’s all I got …..

And even that's a stretch! (pun intended) It was nice, though. What happened to his power?
