Miguel Sano signs minor league deal with the Angels

I put a lot of stock in what Wash can do. He'll put Sano to work with his coaches. I wish Wash, his coaches & Sano well. If they can correct Sano, maybe then MN would rethink their philosophy?

I mean, he is trying to play for the Angels, so he has a better shot with them than probably half the league anyway right?

I wondered why a minor league deal wasn't available to him last year. Was he not interested or were other teams not interested?  

Whatever last year was... He got a Minor league deal this year.  

He's 30... He has to hit his way back. He will be competing with 32 year old Hunter Dozier for that moment in time when the Angels don't want prematurally add someone to the 40 man roster just to put someone on the 26 man roster spot.  

When the injuries start occurring. Personally... I'll be hoping that Trey Cabbage gets a real shot before Sano or Dozier does.  

Either way... Good for Sano... It may not be much of an opportunity... but it is an opportunity.

Gallo  coming to the end of his career most likely   , but who knows he just might rejuvenate his career in the national league  ...

Sano  , who knows what adjustments He has made since last playing in the MLB  , its low cost to find out ...

IF he were here, due to his not good , but better than Kirilloff, fielding, he would probably be DH, with occasional stints at 1st base which would mean Kirilloff would be in a world of hurt.

 Sano has reached the Mendoza line with 3 home runs.

I assume this is the same game that was on replay on MLB Network when I woke up at four and couldn't get back to sleep. I saw two of his at bats, and he looked really good physically. Didn't see the stolen base, but saw the homer. 

This isn't a "the FO is so stupid for letting him go" post, but based on those two at bats and how he looked physically, I don't think we'd mind having him in spring training.

Kudos to Sano for what's clearly been a lot of work on his part. I hope he makes their team.

I remember Sano making some nice picks on low throws. I remember his footwork around the bag being pretty weak, since he had hardly played there. I have no idea how stats capture something like that.
