Although, tbh ... would rather have Solano's bat in the lineup, but would rather have Gallo playing first ... too bad we can't have a player called Gallano playing for us 😉

Gallo can't even play against RHP at this point.....I'd rather have neither of those two start a game. One of them is a good backup though.

I know you loathe Gallo, but come on.  He is a better defensive 1st baseman than Solano, and quite frankly is not even very close.

Sorry, Mike ... I was trying to lighten it up a bit, guess you didn't get that, since you are one of the ones that ALWAYS comments on Gallo in the lineup

He was quite complimentary of Gallo the other day.  Then again, it was Opposite Day...

I don't loathe him.... I'd like him not to be on the roster.

I just saw that López is starting tonight and Gray tomorrow and they are going with Keuchel on Sunday. I'm going to the game on Sunday and wanted to see a winner.......chances diminish when your starter has an ERA over 9. Oh well!

These are games that the Twins absolutely need to win (2 out of 3 anyway). Pittsburgh has slumped lately, but it looks like they are building something.

So anyone have concerns Mr. Double play batter is back at cleanup once again?  I get that he was lightning in a bottle moving to leadoff hitter for a few games but then tells Rocco and Mgmt he is a 4 hole guy and poof that is where he bats now. I like the lineup, not much rearranging I would do.

Go Twins... I'll be in Cleveland for Tues/Wed games post Labor Day, visiting our daughter who is in college, so hoping those games are where we drive the nail through the Tribes heart.

Live in Pittsburgh area and while the Buccos got off to a hot start, local sports now is all about the Steelers.  Reynolds, Hayes are table setters for Suwinski (Think a slightly better Gallo) to do damage.  Get off to a hot start tonight and the weekend should go our way

That's probably the best spot for him....I'm not sure who I'd move up. He wasn't any better as a leadoff guy, and his OBP is lower than two of the guys in front of him (I think).

Anecdotally and by the eye test I would have agreed.  The advanced defensive stats don't though.  BRef's advanced defensive stats LOVE Solano at 1st base (17 runs saved per year).  They show Gallo as merely above average (1 run saved per year).

Gallo has a better reach, and a little more experience at the position.  However Solano has the range of a middle infielder and has more lateral quickness.  Due his decades of playing infield he might read the ball off the bat a bit better than Gallo, who was mostly an outfielder in his younger days.  Solano can't reach the occasional too-high throw, but boy he can really dig out the low ones.
