Ryan throws a no hitter and Taylor scores on a wild pitch for a 1-0 win!

But I'll settle for a 6-2 win to even the series.

Cubs hitting .270 (3rd), Twins .218 (30th). Wow.

The spell will be lifted from the Twins bats this weekend and go on to higher heights, beginning today.

Vegas agrees with me, at least for today's game. Ryan will tame those Cub bats.

Cub bats arent the problem.  Twins lack of bats is.  Its a big obvious problem that the FO suits better address soon.

Pretty good chance the start of the game is delayed by rain. At least that...hopefully not a rain out. There's an area of precip just hitting the south metro right now and it looks to be showers off and on this afternoon.

Wesneski is a good young arm but far from unhittable. The Twins need to get to him today.

A lot of the damage to his season stats occurred in the first two starts.  But then looking closer, 4 of his next 5 starts were facing teams near the very bottom of the major leagues in run production.  So a high-caliber offense like ours should be able to chase him by the fourth inning, methinks.

Yeah, I've watched several Wesneski starts this season. I think he has the potential to be good in the future but he ain't quite there yet.

Against the Mariners, Dodgers, and Reds, he gave up first-inning runs en route to being yanked before completing five.  Let's see if the Twins can capitalize on first-inning jitters, otherwise he may settle in.

Cubs (1 fewer game) 189 runs, 9th in MLB

Twins 164 runs, 21st in MLB

I hope your right the Twins were more heavily favored yesterday.

I don't know what moves they have available, unfortunately.

Maybe in a month Lewis is available, but he's not a middle of the order bat even looking through the rosiest of rose colored glasses.

Kepler to the IL with a hammy, and I believe Larnach is coming back to replace him.

But it was just cramps 2 days ago when he left the game

Cubs have a terrible bullpen. If the twins get to Wesneski early, they could have a big game. But, Wesneski has been decent more recently...

And Rocco just said left hamstring strain. Amazing how cramps get worse by sitting

Tip of the hat to Correa. This will be the Twins 40th game…and it will be Correa’s 36th start…all of them at SS, a very demanding position physically and mentally…and the position at which he provides the most value to the team.

Not bad for a guy that can’t pass a physical.

He may not be ‘earning his salary’ given the batting slump. But I don’t know how anyone could claim he isn’t TRYING to be that guy.

He was the most effected by the Farmer Injury.  Now without Miranda they will have to be creative to get him a day off.  Mostly likely tied to an off day.

Max isn't my age but I find that too much time in the easy chair has bad impact when I get back up. :)

Probably true.

But here is what I also know to be true…

Star players who don’t like off days, will have fewer off days.

Not to disagree with you, but for context, the other big shortstop free agents Xander Bogaerts, Trea Turner, and Dansby Swanson have all had 1 day off each so far, Correa has had four.

Correa missed those games with a back issue, not really days off.

Yep…tip of the hat to them, as well. Still, Correa gets credit from me. We are a fan base asked to accept that the star CF gets regular days off…at DH. And yet, Correa…the guy who’s ankle is so compromised he can’t pass a physical, is on pace to play nearly 150 games…at SS.

In the midst of his horrible offensive start, just want to throw a little love Correa’s way for the EFFORT.
