Curious if Miranda in the lineup means no Farmer move today or if they're sending down Castro.

He had a dental procedure (yesterday, I think) to remove some of the wiring from his mouth. They may be giving him one more day of rehab? or ... we haven't heard yet?

I would have figured that we'd have heard about the move prior to the lineup coming out if he was going to be activated.  It wouldn't be the first time that the lineup changed after posting it though.

Especially if he was given medication for or during the procedure, it makes good sense to give him another day at least. I checked the official Twins team site and no changes were made on the active list as of 3:45.

At bats box is no place for someone coming down off of laughing gas!

I read an article in the Star Tribune.  Hopefully I am misunderstanding, if not I am SERIOUSLY done.  Correa seems to be trying to talk Buxton into just being a DH.  I don't care about stats!  I want the excitement of seeing him in the OF and running bases at 100 miles an hour.  Last year we had a bit of excitement with Arraez and Correa.  Why can't we have it all.  We had to give up Arraez to get Lopez (want both).  I miss Berrios, he was so fun to watch pitch.  Now we have a lackluster lineup and better pitching.  I would rather of 6 days of Arraez than a couple days a week for Lopez.  But the Twins should be able to give us both.  If Buxton is our full-time DH I officially give up on the Twins ever fielding a great consistent lineup.  Just another HUGE disappointment!

Little bit of rain heading our way, but by the looks of the radar, it might be dying out or possibly miss us. Unfortunately, the Pads will be able to kick our butts tonight.

The article mentions it was before the season started, and exactly what the Twins have been doing with Buck so far.  Falvey said at the beginning of the year, that they would re-evaluate sometime in May.  He's on pace to play in 144 games this year.

It looks like a passing shower. This is the worst for the home team. It probably won’t be raining at the scheduled time for first pitch, but it will rain within a hour from then. The Twins will probably protect the starting pitchers by delaying the start for at least an hour.

Sure Twins didn't pay him $MM's to be part time player.  So 3-4 at bats per game, strikes out about 30% of time, so walks back to dugout without influencing the game.  Sure would be nice to get our full monies worth with the deal vs part time player.  On pace for games doesn't mean much when you get about 1/2 the package.  Guess it is better than being on DL with another injury.

Just read a nice obit in NYT for Joe Kapp

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/09/sports/football/joe-kapp-dead.html

I was in high school when the Vikes went to (and, of course, lost) their first Super Bowl with him at the helm. This quote from the article sums up my memories of him perfectly:

Quote

“He’s a sorry passer and really not a great quarterback, but he’s a great leader,” the Kansas City defensive end Jerry Mays was quoted by Sports Illustrated as saying after the team’s Super Bowl victory over the Vikings. “I hated to play against him. You felt his presence no matter where he was, on the sidelines or on the field. He’d look at you and challenge you with his eyes. When I think of him, I think of his eyes.”

Somehow, it's hard to imagine him resting in peace. He just wasn't that kind of guy ...

I'd rather have P Lopez.

He was one tough S.O.B. He played in the CFL before coming here, but it's too bad he didn't play for the Vikes for more than three years. He would've gotten us to another SB...and won.

He's still on the IL as I post this.

Perfect extension of his coach. They're probably in heaven hoping for a blizzard on gameday!
