PDX Twin Verified Member Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Aren't ideal leadoff batters suppose to take a few pitches to let the following hitters see the pitchers' stuff?
OvertheHill Verified Member Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Wacha is exactly the type of pitcher the Twins should tee off on. Theoretically.

OvertheHill Verified Member Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Pretty clean by Miranda. Maybe the start of a positive trend.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Tight zone. As long as he’s consistent.
OvertheHill Verified Member Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Kim with the lost art of protecting the plate.

OvertheHill Verified Member Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 That was the most Miranda AB I’ve ever seen.
TFelton Verified Member Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Going to Twins games in LA next week v Dodgers and Angels. How can I find out who is TV color guy for Twins that trip? Wife likes Justin and wants to wear his jersey if he is there.

Robert Floren Verified Member Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Strong pitching, no hits. Not new.

Can’t barrel anything right now. He needs to work on that in St Paul me thinks

I'm glad to have a few homeruns, but the strikeouts are really frustrating. And the homeruns mostly going to be solo blasts if no one can get on base.

The FO didn’t ‘get rid of him’. They traded him. Like the trade or not but let’s stop with this kind of inflammatory rhetoric

Like the trade or not but let’s stop with this kind of inflammatory rhetoric Not inflammatory at all. They got rid of him, deciding that he was expendable in order to get a good starting pitcher. We can't know what other deals were possible or whether Arraez was unwilling to extend or all the other things that were going on behind the scenes. But the fact is they got rid of him. I haven't made it a secret that I hate boring baseball, and that's what the FO's computer says they have to do. That's one reason MLB changed the rules this year to try to encourage less boring baseball. But the Twins are still playing tactically by the old rules. I can hope that they will adapt and go to more of a speed-, fielding-, and contact-based approach next year. If you disagree with me, you can hope that they look for more "true outcome" players and enjoy homerun derby. All a matter of taste.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 How much better would the twins be if correa could just put up his average numbers?
