Or this could be one heck of a comeback

There’s the positivity we need!

All from the Solano misplay/Gordon throw/Correa missed catch debacle, and the giveaway getaway self full fulling prophecy takes over. All for the home crowd. It never makes sense to me. Baseball is just not that tiring to need so many days off.

Who knows, coming back from 5 down with the B team in would sure be a confidence builder.

I can remember when the opening day lineup was the same lineup through out the season.  An occassional injury  or a long stretch of play, MAYBE merited a day off.  Now the days off are penciled in and everything else filled out through the use of a ouija board, if your Baldelli.

If we see the clubhouse guy passing out catcher gear to all of the fielders, they're sticking with Maeda.

I think he uses a Texas Instrument to back up the ouija board data

Maeda doesn't look sharp at all. That said, Gordon has to throw out Torres easily at second base and Solano needs to field that  ground ball. The importance of fielding was on full display in that inning.

IMO Maeda hasn't looked good all season,  even in his 1st game with good results.

To be fair though, it's only his 4th start, but even that's a sign something isn't right. Skipping a start in April??

Did Kenta hurt his tummy?

Kudos to IKF for bunting. Do our guys batting in the .100s bunt? No way. Only Taylor seems to know how to bunt on the Twins.

Polanco is a swith hitter too. Maybe they just want to be careful with his knees or whatever it is he was rehabbing for 6 months.

You’re complaining about Polanco? Dude has been raking

Maeda has had bad command today, but the defense was mostly responsible for that inning. No pitcher can succeed trying to get 5 outs in an inning.

I do think we have evidence now that he's not as recovered as hoped, though. I would advocate an IL stint and rehab to see if the command manifests at AAA.

No. Questioning, not complaining, the manager's decision to not have him in the lineup, because he is a switch hitter, can bat left against German, and HE IS RAKING!

This is tough. I get the load management but it would have been nice to go for the sweep.

Load management should only apply to the NBA,   NFL NHL or MLB don't need to go in that direction.

I could understand the NHL more than anything, back to back games maybe.

Baseball? No. Multiple times in April?? Ridiculous.

Self inflicted damage.

Dick said Maeda's 4.15 ERA coming in to the game is not that bad. But it's nothing great either. And it's not 4.15 any more. It's now 6.19. Today's defense hasn't been stellar but I think most if not all the Yankee runs score anyway.

Actually, KC is in Minneapolis for the next 4 games.

Maeda's been bad, but Polanco in the game means Torrez' leadoff ground ball "double" is an out.
