1. Castro has the base easily stolen, why the heck is MAT swinging?

2. Then what the heck is Castro doing?

This team is not well coached

It's Kepler's fault

I feel like it's been that way since Rocco took over.

Looks like Lopez is in. Rocco is using the smart part of his brain this time.

I think it was Jax in the 7th if Thielbar ran into difficulty.

My assumption is that Taylor swung because it was a hit and run. As far as Castro's misadventures are concerned, he simply got faked out. Naive question: didn't he hear the sound of bat on ball? Is it difficult for runners to hear that from 100 feet away?

Had the sound off but it looks like the Nationals player faked out Castro. Baldelli talked with the umpire. I'm thinking Rocco has a point because it looked like the fielder tagged Castro on the fake, which is interference.

Interesting point, although when a fielder hinders a baserunner it's obstruction. Interference is the term for a baserunner hindering a fielder from making a play on the ball.

In this case the fielder did touch Castro. The rule isn't clear to me, but if it's a judgement call on the umpire's part then I assume he ruled that the fielder did not hinder Castro's progress.

Strongly doubt H&R, because Castro was timing the pitcher and got a huge jump,  which you wouldnt do, and he didn't look in to pick up the batted ball, which is SOP on a H&R.

If it WAS a H&R, it's even worse baserunning.

But it wasn't.
