Judge bet on himself and won.  He turned down like 218 mil, had one of best seasons of anyone in recent years, now get 360 over 9.  He is now one of top paid guys per year.  I think the price for CC just went up.  Do not think it will quite be at that average value, mainly because Judge is a power hitter, and they tend to age better than non power hitters.  CC has power, but not a power hitter.  I still do not expect CC to sign by end of meetings, Boras clients at least the top ones, normally hold out until closer later in off-season.

Let’s face it, it was always going to be hard for the Giants to compete with that short right field fence in NY.  I can imagine that Judge told the Giants he’d sign with them, but they’d have to move the right field wall in - lol.

Judge signed for what was expected and with the team expected. The Yankees have the money and Judge nearly single-handedly carried his team into the playoffs. I do not believe that there is any relationship between the Judge signing and what Correa seeks or receives in his contract.

I'm not sure how much this affects a deal for CC. Judge's deal is what everyone has been expecting all along.

If anything, it just stirs the pot as to who is chasing after who moreso than $$$ amounts.

I had a dream last night that the Twins waited until the end of the Winter Meetings to announce in a single press conference that they had signed Carlos Correa, Chris Bassitt, Adam Duvall, and Omar Narvaez.  Way to go Front Office!!!

What it looks like is CC to SF & Bogaert to the Cubs now.

This is where we need an "I agree" (head nodding?) emoji. Because I do agree, but don't really "like" the fact.

Good - while Judge is a great talent, hopefully this monster contract at some point prevents them from getting someone they want in the future.

These contracts are never a financial burden to the teams from major markets. Peanuts for the Yankees.

Yeah gotta believe Correa is the highest paid shortstop in the league after this is over.  San Fran can afford to pay and what's not to like about the west coast weather?

Bogaerts and the Red Sox are still talking and I have to believe are the favorites to sign him as he is settled in there.  Looking at the market they have to know what it will take.  Guessing they were hoping to bridge to their shortstop draft pick to not have to spend money but if they want to compete this coming year they need Bogaerts.  We will see what their appetite is for going long term with him.  Otherwise it sure looks like the Cubs will grab him.

It feels like the Twins will be on the outside looking in once again unless Correa really, really likes it here..

Yep, me too. If Twins don't sign Correa I don't really want Bogaerts. He's not a good defender. Just play Farmer until Lewis is ready to come back up.
