The day before the trade deadline in a close game that matters for the standings, the Twins late inning outfield is Tim Beckham, Nick Gordon, and Mark Contreras. It's pretty clear that something has gone disasterously wrong.

Our farm system is ranked 7th in MLB. They must all be in Cedar Rapids and fort myers

They lost their second, third, forth, and fifth best outfielders to injury. And now maybe their sixth.

If back in March someone had told you, "on August 1 the Twins outfield will be those three, and the standings will show the Twins in first place," you would not have believed it!*  And yet here we are. :)

* Maybe you would have replied, "so, they put the lockout back in until July 31, and then all the real players went on strike?"

I don't suppose it has occurred to anybody they can't trade Byron Buxton even if they wanted to, So what is the point of showcasing him before the deadline?

(and if i am not ninja'd in page 1 of this game thread, Hercule Poirot needs to remind people to use the little grey cells)

The Twins were losing by singles and now have tied it by singles, not ironic but close enough.

Who knows... Maybe some other team might offer us a player we need more than one of our current outfielders, if only they impress a scout tonight.

(And i haven't read the rest of the thread... someone did point that out, right?)
