Someone has to teach Bremer what "down the middle" vs painting the black is. I'm sick of seeing Twins pitchers with amazing pitches clipping the edge and Bremer going "and he takes a fastball down the middle for strike 3"

He painted the black and Bremer acted like the hitter closed his eyes.

He's second of the Twins announcers in line for the gig, I think.

Gleeman floated out the possibility of getting Hawkins onto the bench in some capacity, which would be interesting. Obviously he wouldn't have the main role, but I think he would be a helpful addition.

Someone that was in the game as long as he was, without wipeout stuff, might be very good in a role like that.

Perk is much better in the booth than LaTroy is. Not even close. I wouldn't mind one bit if Perk was the main guy.

Agree. I love Hawkins the guy and player, but Hawkins the announcer is single A talent at best.

Encouraging to see 5-6-7 in the order delivering so well tonight.  The Twins will need many of those games after the All-Star break.

Strib had a piece that mentioned that Wes could get a bigger payday for working about 100 fewer games.  Who wouldn't take that? Best wishes Wes, I'm sorry to see you go.

80 games of Perk, 50 games of Justin, and 32 games of the other fill-ins would be ideal if I was making the choices. Glen is already working that many games as he works the pre/post game show a fair amount. Ideally Justin and Perk would split the games evenly, but he doesn't seem to want to work that many games which is fine. I think a 3 man booth of Justin, Perk, and Dick would be really good to listen to as well. 

 

Also, the Twins need to make Archer their color man the moment he retires.

 I don’t think the booth is big enough for Archer to work in. He’d be too claustrophobic in there!

That's usually what happens when they actually have a productive day.  Getting more than the top 1/3 of the lineup is key for any team, but seemingly particularly this one.

I heard Gleeman float that idea and was surprised at first but then quickly warmed to the idea.

The bigger picture is that it seems like LSU is one of those schools that wants to make the Philosophy Department something the baseball/football/basketball teams can be proud of.  Messed up.

Twins have obviously done well against McKenzie, but the last two innings allowed him to stretch what should've been a 5 inning start into at least a 6 inning start, which is huge with the double header tomorrow.
