Sands is not impressive, but Kaat is right that he has had bad luck with defensive positioning and miscues.

Polanco has not looked good in the field this year.

Looked like he was awfully laissez faire on his approach and it ate him up

I performed the anti-jinx ... so ... not sure what else to say

Try the auntie jinx next time.

I looked up paraconsistent logic and the google machine tells me that it is related to “studying and developing ‘inconsistency-tolerant’ logic systems”

that must be how I survive being a moderator here at TD. I’m very inconsistency tolerant

Yes, it’s developed heavily from Indian and Chinese systems.

Guess gonna use this as a learning experienxce for Sands. Heck, if was going to do this, would've brought up Strotman or even henriuquez to see if they could learn on the job, too.

It's like giving away a game...again.

Man, I would even rather see Balazovic come up and get shelled in his first game. Then go back and see if he learned anything.

I say we use six bullpen arms and a position player before the night is done.

I had an uncle jinx, but he’s since passed on

True, he's not getting much help, but I think Cole Sands is gonna be cole slaw tonight. Good thing Larnach makes that catch.

Polo seems to be content with the win earlier. He botched a potential double play and then that. Let Gordon play the rest of the game at 2nd.

He's in center tonight,

I couldn't be less impressed with Sands.

Like sands through the hourglass, he’s not long for this game

Bad pitching, bad defense, bad hitting = L

First step to chipping away at this lead is to actually get on base.

They're making Wentz look like Kershaw from April.

He better get thru 5. Don't care if it takes 150 pitches.

Losing one the games in the DH was always going to be "fine", but losing yesterday is probably going to hurt. It's possible we win the last two games of the series, but with Skubal throwing tomorrow that's going to be tough. I think the goal of many was 10-5 in this stretch, but a 2-3 finish, which seems to most likely, puts them at 9-6. While I've maintained that this is the lowest acceptable record in this stretch, it would feel a bit disappointing. If you drop the last 3, including tonight, it may be a stretch we all look back at in late September...

Polanco's defense has always been strangely inconsistent. He's capable of making some great plays from unusual angles and then you see him bobble some relatively easy ones that just seem avoidable. And that was true when he was playing shortstop, too.

Luckily, Larnach makes the clutch play.

Come on Twins, more hits like that!

Mission started...

Congratulations on your first big league hit, rook!
