Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Bundy's only at 51 pitches, so it'd be nice if he could go 7 and help the pen for tomorrow, but I fear the longer he goes, the lower of a chance we have of winning this game... He's been about what I expected - a middling #5 starter. I fear what will happen when he faces an actually good lineup.

I missed the beginning but bet it took him less than 2 1/2 minutes to tell us how badly pitchers are handled. I turned it in in the 4th inning and 4 minutes in he was telling us that pitchers do not train their legs the right way. The only way for pitchers to train their legs is to pitch. Because that is "how we did it 50 years ago". And pitchers now don't throw as many pitches...blah, blah, blah... Please Bally Sports? You got rid of Burt who had toned down his "back in my day" rants. Can we retire Kaat? Yeah, God forbid should we heed the advice from some old guy who threw 5000 innings and won like 16 gold gloves
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I liked Jack Morris but he went back to the Tigers again
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I would rather listen to Kaat, Bert, Morris talk about how they threw 140 pitches in a game than someone tell me that Smeltzer could only go 70 while tossing a two hitter because... MATH.

Because obviously nothing ever changes.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Man, they’re just finding holes and hitting bloopers on pitches 6-8 inches off the plate. Tough pill for Bundy to swallow.

The lefty so crafty he's actually (dramatic pause) a righty! And vaguely familiar. "I know something you don't" (now what was the part about a land war in Asia??)
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I’ve never seen a first place team in so much trouble. June is going to be bad bad bad.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 A couple of soft hits in a row. They look like line drives in the box score. Really important for Bundy to hold it at one run this inning.

bighat Verified Member Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Bundy seems to be having bad luck, the BABIP from Detroit batters here is ridiculous. He's also been very hittable in addition to his bad luck. Poor outing from what increasingly looks like an out of gas pitcher struggling to stay in the league.

It’s kinda evened out for him on luck. 6 batted balls with an exit velocity over 100 that he got lucky on. And the soft bloopers last inning that were unlucky. You are correct though, he’s hanging on for dear life to remain with a contending team like the Twins.
