If the Twins fall short this loss is completely on Rocco, not taking Cano out in the 6th before getting absolutely lit up. Especially when the game was 2-0 then. But agreed he should have showed a backbone and gotten tossed to stand up for his guy.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Did the ump watch the video in the inning breaks? Those pitches to Arraez were called strikes. Good for learning, I guess.

Unfortuneately, he finally gave the ump a chance, and the ump continued to fail. That AB was a walk with the and RBI, tie game, and the bases still loaded. Spot on
bighat Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Holy cow we got a chance here boys.....
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 I am smelling Buxton pinch hitting for Larnach.........
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Hate to say this, but the Twins lose this 6-5.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Gary does his job and Hunter Dozier throws like a JV baseball player
bighat Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Larnach looks unbelievably lost at the plate right now.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 I definitely would have pinch hit Buxton. But not.............
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 If Buxton isn't hitting in that situation, he clearly isn't being used today.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Buxton hasn’t been good lately and Larnach has the handedness advantage. I would have left Trevor in, too.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Exciting, no? Listened to it until arriving down 6-2, and forgot about the game while saying hi to friends... I am back.
snotboogie Verified Member Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Been listening to the game while doing some grilling in the backyard. I won't say what I made so as not to jinx what's happening.

No, and this isn't the first time it's happened. When Buxton sits, he's sitting. Period. That's what Baldelli has said, that's what Buxton has told the media as well. None of us really expected him to PH this game.

The only reason he fouled so many off, was because he couldn't trust the ump to call the high zone correctly! He finally gave him a chance to, and the ump failed massively. You say the incorrect calls all average out? It is not about average, it is about not calling them wrong. It changes every game that is played. That what makes him a good hitter, he can adjust to everything. That ump was too much for him though
