I agree--I'm not quite certain why Winder isn't getting a bit of run here.  The more I think about it, the more I don't understand Thielbar in the 6th either.  If I had to pick one guy in the Twins pen to get 3 outs with a one run lead right now, I think Thielbar is probably the choice.

Looks like Duffey is coming out next... I guess I can't blame Rocco for treating a 4 run lead so lightly with this bullpen. I'd like to see Winder too, but not at the cost of letting the Mariners back in the game.

I'm a fan of Rocco getting Duffey back out there after blowing the save. Also, he's nothing more than a MR so using him as such makes sense.

 

Now add on a run or two more and get Winder the 8th and 9th.

Winder will get a chance when the Twins get a short start. 2-3 or maybe 4 innings. The team doesn’t want to use him when someone else is available and then not have a long man the next day.

He reminds me of a guy who used to hang out at the bus station.  He would hustle for quarters,  shoot pool, and play cards.  Always claimed he could have played pro ball.

That inning wasnt perfect, but it was important for Duff. He needed a rebound after Saturday. Like last year, I'm betting the velocity and control will come with a little more time to ramp up.
