A man to take advantage of public resources? A metaphor for relying on the defense?

Or a statement on the poor laundry services of the Twins?

Man, Luis is really reminding me why he is my favorite player (besides Buck). Just such an incredible hitter.

More proof how a healthy Arraez is such an important part of this team. Love how Rocco seems to have really accepted that and is using him in crucial spots instead of placing him low in the lineup. I know he wasn't 100% at times in 2021, but never understood dropping him to the bottom third of the lineup so much last year.

Not to be petty, but anyone else get a little sick to the stomach when the between innings commercials show Anderson, or anyone from the Dirty Sox appear? Lol

Looks like Duffey is coming out next... I guess I can't blame Rocco for treating a 4 run lead so lightly with this bullpen. I'd like to see Winder too, but not at the cost of letting the Mariners back in the game.

This is what has gotten Rocco in trouble in the past.  Unless your pen is 6-7 guys deep, you can't treat 4 run leads in the 6th and 7th like it's a close game.  At some point, you have to trust the last 3 guys in your pen to be able to get 9 outs while giving up 3 or fewer runs (which of course also assumes that the offense that scored 4+ runs in 5 or 6 innings doesn't tack on).  If you absolutely refuse to do that, then there's no point to have those guys there.

I do not like the 4 reliever per game strategy, I think there’s too many chances for things to go wrong

I don't like it because it's an excellent way to ensure your pen is always at 70% strength or worse.

Kind of like what my refrigerator installer told me. I got a very basic refrig … single refrig, door, single freezer door, no water or ice dispenser … when I told him I didn’t really like all those extra things, he just said … ‘More chances for things to go wrong’

This season has a weird start to it with short spring training. We've got 10 relief pitchers on the active roster. It's almost a question of why not to use 4 relievers in a game at this point.

I put "Killer of Opportunity" into Google Translate, because that's probably what "Rally Killer" means in a literal context.

I've never studied German so I wouldn't know how to translate it.

Bundy and now Smith have both done nice jobs working around the Twins defense. I'll chose to be optimistic and say that our pitchers are mentally tough, rather than our defense sucks.

I can think of a few reasons why not. Why pull a starter who gives up 1 hit, is someone else going to do better? It just doesn’t make sense to me, unless you’re treating the first few games as extended spring training games, in which case you should be fired.

Exhale.

I am still conditioned by last year's Twins to expect the worst after an unnecessary error like this...

I think we are all a little triggered by that

So far, 0-3 from the relief staff this game for clean innings.  They didn't allow runs, true.  But a bullpen that wants to contend needs to look shut-down, and if you're shut-down then occasionally you'll pitch a clean inning just by accident.  Put guys on base every inning, eventually something bad happens.

Keep playing with fire and you'll eventually get burned.

Untidy game. Lots of missed opportunities on offense. Three errors on defense. I guess it will be okay, but I won’t breathe easy until the last out.

Very sorry, but I don't see the argument LV. Even in the 80's-90's, early 2000's I'd state I only a few games...when a team's #1 SP was on the mound, where I only saw 2-3 pitchers. 3-4 pitchers has been the normal for some time. IMO, the change/problem has been the 5-6 pitchers per games issue. That's part of the reason,  right or wrong, where MLB has instituted the 3 batter rule.

But for NOW, we're talking yet ANOTHER season of craziness. Guys have to ramp up. Hence the reason for the expanded roster, at least for the first 3 weeks.

I bet Correa is not hitting better as he is letting Sano and Kiriloff beat the slumps , then he will turn it on.
