Not pitching great, but 1-1 with a 3.07 ERA coming into today doesn't say "broken". Heck if you're pitching like that on a good team you're 3-0 right now.

Let me rephrase...he looks nothing like he did last year.

Kenta is broken

He's at like 33 pitches, Rocco probably should give him some relief now. Want him fresh at the end of the year.

Rocco's probably planning on some days off and participation trophies. That'll turn things around.

Watch this team just knuckle under, and do nothing on offense the rest of the game.  There is no heart, no fight, no fire whatsoever.  Just a bunch of schmucks collecting paychecks.

Last year, Maeda's WHIP was under 1. This year in three starts, it was 1.70, I think that says more about his effectiveness than the ERA.

Hindsight's 20-20 - and, when they made the decision to let Eddie walk, I wasn't too upset. But after seeing Jake Cave and Kyle Garlick and just the overall malaise of this group, I think the front office made a mistake.

Last year was also probably an outlier. The guy was unhittable, if Bieber didn't emerge into Randy Johnson, Maeda would have won the Cy Young going away.

 

I don't think regressing a bit from a 2nd place Cy Young finish makes Kenta a problem for this team. It shouldn't.

 

Reminds me of when people started blaming last night's loss on Berrios. That's just nonsense.

Eddie would not have made this team significantly better for the amount of money he was asking
