Per Betsy Helfand on Twitter:

An update on Josh Donaldson (calf strain): The Twins' third baseman has shown steady improvement for the past few days. He did machine cardio today, took some ground balls and continues to take BP and hit in the cage. He reported no issues with any of that today.

He needs to hire a full time calf masseuse. At least 10 times a day.

Sano now batting .136 and striking out over 50% of the time.

People like to say "it's all or nothing" with Sano. But that's not really true. It's more like "he might make good contact once per week". It's mostly nothing this year.

The average MLB team has given up nearly eight unearned runs this season. Other than St. Louis, which has only played eight games before today, the Twins are the only team to have given up just one unearned run.

In addition, the average team has made 11.5 errors. The Twins have made two, St. Louis four, and everyone else at least six.

Do you guys know the difference between a good friend and a true friend???

A good friend is who you call when you need to get bailed outta jail. A true friend is the guy who's sitting next to you in jail and says, "man, that was so much fun!!"

It's hard to believe Garver and Sano were hitting above .900 OPS last year...

Hey, they have a combined 1.089 this season.

And by combined, I mean if you add them.

If .200 is the Mendoza line, what is the .100 level that Sano and Garver are approaching? The Blyleven line?

Smeltzer looks good, getting more Ks than usual. As it has been for most this season, the pitching is not the problem today.

Cruz consulting with Sano in the dugout. Sano nods his head. "Okay, Nelson, I'll hit it up the middle, or the other way. I'll be like you, Nelson. And when the pitch is just right, I will clobber it into the left field seats. Thanks for the advice, Nelly."

I wish.

Hit it? Well, he managed a weak foul ball that at-bat, which is better than some. I guess backwards qualifies as "the other way."
