TFRazor Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Such a weird deadline for San Fran. Sent us Dyson, trader Pomeranz to the Brewers, Melancon to the Braves. Then they picked up Gennett from the Reds. Kept Bumgarner and Smith. Weird. Happy that weird got us a new vacuum cleaner though.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Side note: if Keanu Reaves asked me out to dinner I'd definitely say yes. Dude is a handsome man. And he does all of his own stunts! The stunts he performed were unbelievable in The Matrix. I mean, unbelievable. Seriously. True story.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Stray thought that now popped into my mind. It was repeatedly reported that the Tigers were asking the Nationals for Carter Kieboom for Shane Greene. The Nationals then signed Hudson, Elias and uh, someone else? Nearly immediately after the Nationals were done with their signings, the Tigers gave him to the Braves for two very marginal prospects? Man, the talent evaluation across the league must crazy diverse, and just when I thought the teams were all starting to become carbon copies of each other.

It's been a weird deadline

SwainZag Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Got the pitcher's dual last night. How about some bombas tonight? Let Jose cruise to a W.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Garver and Sano go bomba tonight. Twins win 7-2.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 So, who was the casualty of the Dyson trade on the 25 man?Do we need to make that move right now, or do we get to wait until he's with the team? (Assuming he didn't get to Miami yet.)
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Whoa ... that was a good play ... kudos
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Missed a golden opportunity for a great start
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Who wouldn't? What's Keanu's best role in movies he's been in? John Wick ranks up at the top for me.What about The Day The Earth Stood Still? Now if that wasn't an Oscar worthy performance I don't know what is!!!!!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Missed a golden opportunity for a great startThe other team just made too good of a play.

(Assuming he didn't get to Miami yet.)Not sure which guy with options gets sent down. If the Twins activate Cron when he's eligible, they will probably have to option another. I'd like to see if Thorpe can be an effective multi-inning lefty in the 'pen.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Wow ... sounds like lots of Twins fans in Miami.

PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Correa home run puts Astros up 1-0 over Cleveland in 2nd inning.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 José Cruz retired over a decade ago. You must be thinking of someone else.Just think, the preceding FO probably would have offered him a contract.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I like the efficiency out of Berrios in the first 2 innings. No messing around, gets right after the hitters.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Thanks Van for the invitation. I really miss the Joe M Conversation. So do the rest of us. But, the person who did that stuff has hung up his keyboard and no longer "in the game." Sad, in a way.

Did they remake that? Or was Keanu in the original somewhere? The words seem strangly similar to those in the oft quoted Army of Darkness (shop smart... shop s-mart)
