Game Thread: Twins @ Marlins DEADLINE EDITION 7/31 @ 7:10 PM CST

[yarnivek1972]

Do we need to make that move right now, or do we get to wait until he's with the team? (Assuming he didn't get to Miami yet.)

Unless they have changed the rules, the move to the roster for the acquired player is immediate. Thus, making room is also immediate.

It hasn’t happened recently, but there are examples of players switching teams between games of double headers.

Also famous in Twins history is the walk by Rick Aguilera from the bullpen to the dugout in about the 5th inning. Everyone in the park knew what was going on.

The Twins' Web site does not list Dyson yet. Of course, that doesn't mean the change hasn't been made.

Touché

Touché Toussaint is a completely different player. Please don't confuse matters.

[stringer bell]

Thank goodness he didn't walk the bases loaded.

And it caught up with him!

[obtusebanter]

That's how you break a skid!!!

[HawksNest]

Hey-o!

Fastballs over the heart of the plate will get crushed eventually.

Who asked the question earlier about why Garver and not Castro? That’s why.

[Diesel]

Good day to be a Twins fan! Good trade deadline followed by a great BOMBA!

[TwinsCD]

I'll have that meatball with extra Garv-sauce, please!

[VATwinsFan]

Garver and Sano go bomba tonight.  Twins win 7-2.

There’s one.

OK. Good reason!

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Mr. Berrios breaks the tie score.

I like this better than the usual meaning of that statement.

Halfway there.

[HawksNest]

I regret to inform you that Roberto Perez also just hit a 3-run HR for the Tribe

Now we're talkin'! Crescent Rollie Fingers. Yum!

[PDX Twin]

Cleveland also gets a 3-run homer from their catcher. Astros trail 3-1.

Nicely called.

[Mike Sixel]

So....heresy coming....but should Garver be the 1B next year, to get, what, 200-250 more ABs?

Also to reduce his injury risk?

How did Rosario hit that pitch? Why did Rosario hit that pitch?

They'll bring in Greinke to quell this rally, I'm sure.

[HawksNest]

Outstanding AB by Sano there.  Really impressed by his strides this year

[stringer bell]

Marwin's in a little snag.

[John Kelsey]

Marlins are going to have to go to their now horrendous bullpen pretty soon.

[jz7233]

Same thing, Perez got a fastball in the middle of the plate and crushed it. Just like Garver.
