SwainZag Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Nasty slider.....way too nasty.
David HK Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 One guy. Just one guy out of that pen (or starting staff today) does his job, and this doesn't happen. OK, Duffey was that guy, but he got screwed. And it was too late by the time he got in, anyway, then he got pulled too soon.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Our bullpen just isn't good, it's bad. Our AAA starters aren't that good out of the pen, either!!!
Darius Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 The ump has also robbed Stewart of 2-3 low strike calls that were given to Chapman multiple times.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Ladies and Gentleman.... Kohl Stewart. Was sent back to Rochester after the game!
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 The one knee Catcher really limits mobility on that type of pitch
twinssporto Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Do we have a position player that can throw?
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 This game is an indictment on the Front Office. I've been reluctant to say it, but their inability to anticipate and address the bullpen has cost them a half a dozen games over the last several weeks.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Yay, wild pitch gives the Yankee and insurance run! Woot!
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Bullpen: 9 runs. 5 innings. What the front office is probably going to do before July 31st: Nothing
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 My optimism is starting to fade, someone help me out
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 At least we got Tauchman out...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Kohl Stewart just isn't a MLB-quality pitcher. His minor league track record has always indicated that, and if he's going to post poor stats in AAA, there's no way he's going to stop the Yankees lineup. Unfortunately [whoever our current coach is]'s only other option was to use one of our starters... and I can understand why he didn't want to do that.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I am.I think that's part of the TD TOS.
sftwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Not even really sure how Stewart is on this team. He doesn't even pitch particularly well in the minor leagues. Is Latroy Hawkins maybe interested in a comeback?
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 When was the last inning the Yankees didn't score? Our bullpen is fine. Against the Twins, you mean? 1991?
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Sure going to be interesting how this team responds in the next couple days after this one
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Im not even mad I’m just kinda drained
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 The ump has also robbed Stewart of 2-3 low strike calls that were given to Chapman multiple times. Amen. I hate umpires calling balls and strikes.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 And still standing by my previous statement. Looking forward to being able to sit, eventually.
TribeAZ13 Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 it sounds insanse, but i wonder what u guys would give us for Hand.... seriously... he has 2 years of control still and is top 3-4 in baseball...i think indians can afford to drop him if kluber and salazar are anywhere close to themselves...
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Falvey seriously needs to be punched in the face over and over again When I finally go to bed tonight. I'll have seen one of the most amazing games I've ever seen and the worst of the internet simultaneously.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Didn't someone doubt this thread would go past 47 pages at one point?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Now that the bullpen is taxed, does Staskak or Thorpe get sent down? You know, the two guys who are most responsible for the taxing.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Any chance you have Chapman too?No, but the guy who does is so far in last he’s not going to care. In fact, Chapman’s saves are the only thing keeping him from being in last in all eight categories.
Darius Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Why is Kohl Stewart even pitching in this situation in a playoff race against the Yankees? This is just getting absurd. I really wish the media would start to tar and feather Falvine about this bullpen instead of kissing their rear ends.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Sure going to be interesting how this team responds in the next couple days after this one Realistically, probably going to drop the finale tomorrow and win the series against Chicago and Miami, but this one will sting.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 it really is your achilles heal...weve been so spoiled in cleveland having a top 3 rotation and pen for 5 years running, idiots like me lose it when our closer blows our mlb fewest 4th game all year...my heart could not take a subpar bullpen...your hitting is amazing, period, but twins gotta get an arm.. and i dont know there is one out there elite enoughYeah, that's the biggest problem, every single bullpen seems to be flawed in some fashion so getting an elite arm is a tall order.
