Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 not to worry he K's anyway. he's the new sano in my world. doghouse
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Would've preferred a base hit to the K, but at least not a DP by Schoop (who's a pretty good candidate for that). We get a couple of cracks at least, by the top of our lineup.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Complete agreement with that statement.Correct. = Agree 100%
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 i love max but that was a dogpoo at bat. just awful
Darius Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 That’s getting really frustrating to watch. Two terrible at-bats once a runner gets on.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Hand is a very good closer -- makes batters look bad.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 There is a reason Hand was an all star. He’s even making Polanco look bad.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Schoop = d.f.a. The "sunk cost" fallacy is hard to shake, unfortunately. Would make owners and GMs alike feel like they just gave away 3.75 million dollars, and they didn't get to be millionaires by giving away money.

glunn Community Moderator Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Disappointing game today, but happy with 2 out of 3 here.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 given an absolute gift followed by three of the worst AB's ive ever seen
Blake Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Well, two out of three is a good result. Twins leave gaining a game on Cleveland.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Welp. Berrios didn't have his best stuff, but the bullpen was okay. Not sure why we threw that curveball to Carlos, but hindsight is 20/20. We picked up a game in the standings, and got three games off the schedule. Expect a lot of fans at the next homestand!!! I will be there Wednesday!! Have a good afternoon, and monday. See y'all Tuesday.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Found a way to lose a winnable game.hard to sweep on the road. Coming back from 3-0 made it interesting
Darius Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I feel like they just handed the Indians two games in the standings. Pretty frustrating. The offense dropped the ball, but I just can’t get that hanging curve to Santana from May out of my mind. Morris was literally saying how he shouldn’t throw that pitch under any circumstances right before he threw it. And what is Garver thinking? If he keeps shaking off the fastball, go out and talk to him.
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Goats of the game definitely Schoop & May May especially. What a rookie ball mistake from a guy who is way too seasoned to be that careless. He suffers from thinking he’s way better than he is and has his entire career. You never let a teams best hitter beat you 0-2
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 ya want all 3 we got 2 - cya back home

IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 That’s getting really frustrating to watch. Two terrible at-bats once a runner gets on.Which to me highlights problem 1B with this team. That being the almost complete inability to play small-ball and score runs without the benefit of mashing the ball over the fence. I fear that this fault, as much as anything, will be their eventual downfall by season's end.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 No question, this was a gift win for Cleveland. The boys will remember. They know they're the better team and will play smarter down the road. Can't wait for Rosie to get back.

That being the almost complete inability to play small-ball and score runs without the benefit of mashing the ball over the fence. I fear that this fault, as much as anything, will be their eventual downfall by season's end. Castro bunted yesterday and got 2 men over, turned out to be a nice run-scoring play. I'd like to see the Twins do this more often. I know there are some here that completely against bunting and moving runners over, but I personally enjoy seeing sac flies, runners moved into scoring position, etc. Twins can do it, but they just don't have many guys practice. Think about it: Cruz, Cron, Sano, Garver, Schoop, Kepler are just some guys that come to mind who wouldn't be comfy sacrificing. People get mad when Buxton and Polanco bunt because they want them on the base-paths and not giving themselves up. In the end you're right, it's a weakness. But I suppose this team wasn't designed to do that from top to bottom.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 The team wouldn't be scoring so many runs if it wasn't built to break the home run record.....
akmanak Verified Member Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Twins strikeout rate is climbing and they arent getting clutch hits. This team without help they are simply an average team.
