Hildy moves down the pecking order again in the bullpen. He can't drop much further....he has options and the Twins should think about using them.

Hildy needs to be able to get the 7-8-9 hitters out of a poor Tigers lineup. He has been up and down. So is the life of a reliever. He's fine as a 7th inning guy, but he is nothing more than that.

I have no idea how an umpire makes that call. Apparently I'm wrong, though, and Kepler is safe. Good for us.

So you're saying that MigCab returned to the earth from the apogee of his explosive foot-high vertical leap with time to spare?

On a related note, my daughter pointed at a certain Tigers player last night and said "I know baseball players retire before they're 50, so what's that guy's story?"

Do the Twins' PA folks really need to blare senseless music in between every pitch? It's getting to be as bad as the NBA here.

Hildy doesn't have it today.

Hildenberger hasn't had for a while. Hildenberger is not a reliable option. I know he has had his days... but he has also had opportunities. He is very close to what he was in the second half of last year now. I hope they adjust his use. Batters catch up with quirky pitchers.

The version of my post which you re-sponded to was an unfortunate sequence. I started by saying it was a terrible call. Then I got distracted, and thought that the call was not challenged and Kepler re-mained at first, and I edited my post. Then I got re-aligned to re-ality and I re-edited my post. Re-ally sorry about that, it re-flects badly on me.

Eddie's having an ISO season for the ages, but about the only good thing that can be said of his last at bat was that his wild swing and miss third strike didn't end with him hitting his own leg.

Kepler not hustling there cost the Twins a chance in this game.

I will never understand why players don't treat every chance like someone can screw it up and they probably will. Even if it is not probable. I mean.... what else do they have to do? It is what they are taught from little league on. They just don't do it way too often.

Resourceful! Requisite, replete reciprocation returned to you.

Hey folks, had a great time shooting IDPA today! Great day to be outside.

What did I miss, other than a patented Hildenberger implosion and bad umpiring?

Also, not looking forward to the Kohl Stewart start today.

Uggh.

Tough loss, but you can't win 'em all. Gotta hope Stewart gives us a good effort tonight and the offense can put up some runs against a Double-A prospect.

We didn't win?

My bad.

I'll see what i can do for tonight.

And sorry about getting the location wrong in subject.

I was thinking we were nearer Niagra than we are.

Ah, falls of the mighty...

Not looking forward?!

Does that mean you're looking backward on it?

How'd it go?

Hildenberger now has an average against of .333, 1.74 WHIP, and a 5.68 ERA, and this doesn't count the 5 inherited runners scored and passed on to his teammates stats while his ERA was at 0.00 for that opening spell - you know - when he was being written up as being outstanding. The inherited runners were the indication of the future. 6 weeks in.... not really that small of sample now, for a relief pitcher.

The Twins can make this this a 5 game advantage on May 11th with a win tonight. I'm excited to see how Kohl Stewart fares against this Tigers lineup.

Stewart gave the Twins a valiant effort a few weeks ago in Houston, though the combination of that relentless Astros lineup and Justin Verlander as his mound opponent were too much for Stewart and the Twins to handle in an ugly, predictable loss.

Stewart will have a much weaker lineup to pitch to and will NOT be opposing Justin Verlander. Let's get this W! Go Twins

Gardy must have been annoyed that he had his afternoon bar-hopping interrupted by another game so he showed up to fill out a lineup, watch a half inning and then head back out into the Minneapolis nightlife.

I don’t exactly know what Cabrera said, but the way he was getting the umpire’s attention, he can’t be surprised at all that he was tossed.

Seems like he wanted to get tossed. Maybe even planned.

Oh I swear

If I can't get that song out of my head I'm going to be swearing too.
