Game Thread Tigers @ Twins 1:10 & 7:10pm cdt 5/11/2019ad

[Gibby]

Morneau's growing on me. His soft-spoken, 'golly-gee-whiz' style combined with the accent...it was all a bit too cliche at first. But I like him more every day, he actually seems to enjoy being in the booth! Something Blyleven lacks, as he's basically said he only wants to do marquee games and doesn't bother with games in Cleveland, Detroit, or KC.

Thanks, I was hoping someone would respond. He is a little golly gee whiz, but I love when he gets all offended when a pitch whizzes in tight....and wow! Cave has wheels.

[bird]

I was at Eddie Bane's debut.

Who wasn't?

[Gibby]

I promised my wife I would clean off the patio and apply locking sand. Did I aim too high?

[Gibby]

Who wasn't?

That's awesome.

[Gibby]

That's awesome.

Remember he was wearing shades in his team pic?

[Gibby]

Gawd I love Eddie.

[Gibby]

Twins baseball

[Gibby]

Now if Cave could manage to get hit by a pitch again....

[gil4]

Enduring bad pitching has been the bane of every Twins fan since the 80s.

70s

Since we traded Blyleven to Texas.

Because the only drug test was the eye test back then.

[Don Walcott]

Twins are taking good ABs mostly, and putting a lot if pressure on Turnbull.

[IndianaTwin]

Welcome home, Gardy!

[Gibby]

Because the only drug test was the eye test back then.

I watched a hawk attack a robins nest this morning...unsuccessfully. It was cool to see though.

[Don Walcott]

Gardy probably had somewhere to be this afternoon. He’ll catch up on things during the nightcap.

[Gibby]

I'll always love Gardy. He would always get us to the point where we had the opportunity to piss down our legs when facing the Yankees.

[IndianaTwin]

Well, I guess Rodriguez has the team lead now.

[gil4]

Gawd I love Eddie.

Bane or Rosario?

[Gibby]

Bane or Rosario?

  Both.

[Gibby]

Eddie Bane's brother is the CEO of Trader Joe's.

[jtkoupal]

This is not ideal for Pineda. Still working to get the bite back on that slider.

It's gonna take some time to get there, but I believe in his ability. When/if he turns the corner, that rotation becomes lethal, almost like getting a player at the trade deadline for free.

If Pineda can't find it, then the trade market is an option. There will be names on the market.

[IndianaTwin]

By the way, with No. 78, Gardy is at basically half a season of ejections.

[diehardtwinsfan]

so by being ejected in game 1, is Gardy allowed to manage game 2?

[TwinsCD]

Yep...two different games.  Maybe he can go for the doubleheader sweep.

[Don Walcott]

What happened? Now they’re swinging at everything.

[MNT1996]

Pineda didn't pitch that bad. Let's see if our boys can give him the win

[Don Walcott]

Good job, Pineda.

Now, let’s score some runs!

[mrtwinsfan]

I was at Eddie Bane's debut.

Was that where he pitched against david clyde- also big prospect, on July 4trh ??

[jtkoupal]

The Twins may still lose this game, and given who Detroit has in the back end of the pen, I think they will, but Pineda toughing out 6 innings is HUGE in setting up for the second game.

[snotboogie]

Castro need to sell it. He could learn from soccer player flops.

<edit> Jason I’m glad you’re a terrible actor.

Nice job , Castro!
