sooo ..... are we winning?

As of 1.3 seconds after reading your post... no.

Not that they're related, Mr. Jinxypants.

I seriously don't know what Mr. N is frowning about after giving up that stuff.

Maybe he's wondering, "why was I left in this game?"

Blame the guy in the mirror, there, Kyle.

Only for Friday night games. A certain level of sobriety must be maintained during the work week!

The deuce you say!

I had no idea....

Again, if you break down 550+ PAs a season that way, you’ll be disappointed. This is a game of failure.

Yes, this 2-1 deficit to the Blue Jays in the sixth inning is too much for anyone to overcome.

I expected better play against a bad team, regardless of what ends up happening here. So far 2 HRs have accounted for all the offense, and this is a bad Toronto offense...

The Jays have long been the Twins kryptonite. No idea why, but, there it is.

Sure glad we have this guy instead of Birdie. He literally can’t throw a fastball in the zone without it getting smoked

It has been mildly disappointing, as Gibson is still obviously struggling to regain strength. Mejia crapped the bed last night but other than that, it was an okay game.

Long season, not worried yet.

I have no frame of reference to understand this.

Drink more, it might make more sense.

Trust me, I'm a stranger on the internet!

Twins should be able to hit the Jays pitchers.

I can understand the Jays getting some hits, they haven't hit all season, some positive regression is due.

I will be guided by your wisdom, oh traveler of the world wide web. Truly your vision is a path to the future.

Also, i was probably going to drink more anyway.

Is there a good analysis of the effectiveness of infield shifts? It's struck me as a lot of work for a relatively small net positive over a course of a season. Maybe it saves a team a dozen runs or so throughout a year, which might (in the best case) lead to an extra couple of wins. It seems as much as it works, it also backfires, like the Smoak play which would have been a routine DP with standard infield positions.

I may be totally wrong, but to me it's one of those analytics things that sounds better on paper than in practice. If there is a good analysis out there I'd love to read it.

Well if you are shifting to pull and pitch him away you might have a problem

And catchers call for that all the time. I never understand why. Seems very intuitive to me to not shift to the pull side and then pitch outside.
