Game thread: Twins vs Jays, 4/16, 6:40 pm CST

[IndianaTwin]

Is that better or worse than giving up 6 runs on 2 hits?

Uh, yes.

[Mike Sixel]

I switched MLB Gameday over to Espanol. The game is just more interesting that way for some reason.

note: this time I remembered not to have Google translate the page......

[twinssporto]

I don't like this lineup tonight.  Seems weird, unbalanced, not really sure....it just doesn't feel right.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Oh well, the Ribbies would have been nice.

[operation mindcrime]

Feels like 4-5 innings.

Sounds about right! That's when he usually reaches 100 pitches!

[bighat]

Castro being Castro.

[wsnydes]

Neat...

Yup. No Cron or Cruz seems like a handicap.

When you have Cave, Adrianza, and Castro batting 6-7-8 you're going to feel that way. Probably the three worst hitters on the team. Very anemic.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Great chance to meet Socrates in person!

[Mike Sixel]

I think I've only heard of 2 or 3 of the Jays' hitters......

[jkcarew]

Great chance to meet Socrates in person!

He swings, therefore he’s out.

[Nine of twelve]

Max has to let Byron steal.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Toronto has three great players in their organization: Vlad Jr., Socrates, and don’t forget Pompey — Dalton Pompey!!

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Max has to let Byron steal.

...

[Mike Sixel]

Max has to let Byron steal.

I think the Jays might have something to say about that.....

sigh, there goes a lame joke....

Max has to let Byron steal.

And that was about as opposite as you can get.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Ugh, Kep

[twinssporto]

I like Polanco. A lot.

[Nine of twelve]

Ka-Boom! But there should have been ducks on.

[bighat]

Unforgiveable offense from Kepler today with his baserunning and now with that ground ball on the 1st pitch with Bux aboard. Where's his head today?

[MMMordabito]

Way to go Polanco!

Still shaking head about over-agressive Kepler

Should be 2-rip

[Mike Sixel]

my first jonron of the year!

[jkcarew]

Ka-Boom! But there should have been ducks on.

Exactly. Max must have REALLY liked that pitch. There’s aggressive, but then there’s....not smart.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Well there’s some logic in Kepler swinging on the first pitch, but there’s logic in waiting a couple of pitches to see if Buxton steals.

[Brock Beauchamp]

Exactly. Max must have REALLY liked that pitch. There’s aggressive, but then there’s....not smart.

Unless I missed something, the pitch seemed fine.

Sometimes you take a hack and roll over on one. It’s hardly news-worthy in a 162 game season.

[mudcat14]

Kep needs to think more like a ballplayer. He must take a pitch or two to give the games most effective base-stealer a chance. Particularly when he just walked a free-swinger.

[Mike Sixel]

I'm not a big fan of not swinging at pitches you like.....except when Buxton is on first with no outs....

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

This game is moving right along.

Must be all the Intentional Walks speeding up the pace
